  1. Why I’d double down on this. Take the UND perspective out. Let’s look at this from an NDSU point of view. IF they lost this game. 2 FCS losses, before they go to Brookings / Cedar Falls. We’re talking a very good chance of no seed / playing on Thanksgiving weekend. A UND win would not only vault UND up a tier, but also knock NDSU down a tier. We’re talking a decade + of frustrations gone. Am I off base here? That’s why UND winning seems virtually impossible.
  2. There are some games that are so big that they can change the narrative for a program. This is another “big game” opportunity. My prediction? Until they actually win a game like this, most likely outcome is NDSU rolls. Whatever your worst case scenario for this game is how it’ll end up.
  3. Score wise, perfect. Get all the first teams out and build your depth the rest of the game.
  4. I posted this earlier this week. There is a chance that the reason it was so lopsided is because SDSU is a step or two better than ANY other FCS team, except for Montana State. Let’s let this one play out for a few more weeks.
  5. This needs to be a clean, decisive win. Get your confidence back type of game.
  6. Yes. Green Bay next year, UND the following year.
  7. I've talked about this before, but it just feels like a high-stakes year for the program. You can feel the frustration from the fanbase. As much as things feel off right now, the hope has to be that UND just got the best team in the FCS (which is true) A+ game on the road. Next three games feel like it's make or break for Bubba. Where I'll disagree with some is I think an 8-3 record would be a success, but with how uninspiring and frustrating the Boise State / SDSU games have been, the NDSU game is feeling more and more like a must win.
  8. That’s all for today. As bad as you could have imagined. We’ll still be here for that one time they exceed expectations. Has to happen eventually.
  9. Worse? It’s UND so of course it’s very believable, but still. This is crazy.
  10. So much worse than I expected. Were never in this game. Embarrassing.
  11. Puckpreps would be what you’re looking for. Rank by birth year. Almost all the information is behind a paywall, but you can search and find everyone’s rankings.
  12. I commented on this a few weeks ago, how it seemed like everyone had cool looking edits / artwork for their commitments except for the UND guys. I had incorrectly assumed the schools were doing them. Simpson and others used the IG account charmdsgn. It's on the player, not the school. Just an Fyi, as I had assumed wrong on that topic.
  13. I wouldn't be too worried about NIL and situations like Eiserman. If a player has good academic standing, between the Alston Award and FCOA, a player would receive around 10K a year from UND. How many players are getting the "Eiserman" treatment? You would think it would be a very select group every year. How many of those players would have gone East anyway? UND has positioned itself just fine in the college landscape between the Alston and FCOA.
  14. The UND big game status quo says that line is really good. I envision a one score SDSU lead late in the 3rd quarter. SDSU outscores UND by 10-14 points in the 4th. Puts you right on. That's why you play the game, a decade's worth of big game frustration could be alleviated on Saturday. Here's to history not repeating itself!
  15. Very solid journalism. What a headache for NDSU.
  16. If it happens again (missed XP) in the first half, I would prefer UND to stop chasing points. Line up the next time and try another XP. I think they are now 0-4 on 2 pt conversions.
  17. I'm really interested to see how it ends up with Lindberg and Mooney. The conventional wisdom would lead you to believe at the beginning of the process that Lindberg would end up at UND, Mooney at Minnesota. We're far enough into the process where if that's going to be the case, why wouldn't have it happened already? Seems to be a little more up in the air.
  18. Nothing has changed for me and what I believe the likelihood of the outcome will be. What has changed a week later is I'm absolutely fired up for this opportunity for the program. I truly believe a win on Saturday would change the perception of this program "nationally". Credit to Bubba for getting this program to the point where it can break through. The Boise State loss felt differently. I do get a sense that more and more are getting increasingly frustrated with the status quo. Let's see a complete game, fundamentally sound, somebody be a hero. Make a play that will change this program. Excited for Saturday.
  19. Enrollment at UND rises again; systemwide enrollment is up, too - Grand Forks Herald | Grand Forks, East Grand Forks news, weather & sports (inforum.com)
  20. Thinking logically, if we do not see a story in the Forum on enrollment numbers, it's because NDSU does not want the article written. You're probably right on your line of thinking.
  21. Before the season, the feeling I've gotten. 1st Round: Boisvert 1st / 2nd Round: Emery / Heil 2nd / 3rd Round: Swanson / Zellers Laurila (?) Would it be unrealistic for UND to have 5 go in the Top 75? What a fun year this will be to follow recruits.
