Yes, but things would have to move much quicker. Probably a bit aggressive with noon, but I do think if we don’t see anything today. They’ll lose very, very few key players. Washington State’s first day of classes is Jan. 6 with last day to add Jan. 12. We’ve seen this type of thing before, either happens quickly or “not at all”. By not at all, I don’t mean none, more so very few. Not enough to change next years trajectory.

We’ll find out in the next 48 hours how bad it’ll be. With NDSU & SDSU I’ll always be in I’ll believe it when I see it mode. If entire staff leaves, this would be different than the NDSU situations. Poking around, I did find it interesting that their collective never got off the ground and is being revamped starting next week. Too little too late? Logic says this would be. Deck is stacked against them, but if there’s any program that could come out ok, it’s SDSU.

Do you think we’ll see considerably more additions more the portal in the next few weeks? If so, then I could see Spring ball having more of a “playing for a roster spot” for more positional groups. Otherwise, outside of LB and QB, again, I don’t think there’s much more attrition than normal. We’ll see.

Have you followed the portal? Some really unrealistic expectations about the reach from the portal for FCS programs.

You think it’ll look drastically different than the normal turnover? The math isn’t going to check out unless we see 10+ players enter the portal tomorrow. Note: I think this off-season is going great so far.

For those not aware, we are in the middle of a "dead period" for recruiting, which is from Dec.23 to Jan. 5. No in-person contact with recruits.

What eligible returning starters have we not seen an 1883 post about? Portal closes the 28th. Erkman, Bluiett, Teiken, Mohr/Terry & Romfo? I think Hembry does qualify for an extra year with the new ruling, so that could be a fun one!

Probably nothing to it, but what I would consider the two highest rated DB portal offers just followed JTJ on Twitter. They were not prior to his commitment. Could be nothing, but could this be what momentum looks like?

Maybe coaching change has something to do with it not happening.
