SIOUX Recruits - 2008-09 Updates, Monitoring Their Junior League Play
AZSIOUX replied to AZSIOUX's topic in Men's Hockey
per brad I was told in Washington by a member of the Caps staff that NHL teams can waive a draft pick if he returns to juniors and the Caps did that with recruit Brett Bruneteau. So he is now a free agent. Apparently the Caps were not real enamored with Bruneteau. He was a fourth-round pick in 2007. -
ive heard acedemic issues on the NCAA end, nothing concrete but just talk here and there ive seen mentioned on boards and a little chatter i had with someone in DC who was just a randon boston college sports fan. that doesnt mean he wont go NCAA but i still think hes OHL bound personally i would take morin in to UND any day of the week. kid can flat out play hockey. 1 year and gone is fine with me. he wont play college imo
-
Just looking at oshies numbers and if he stays healthy all yeah he battles top 2-3 for ROY, no doubt. but it may be a blessing in disguise as hes fresh and helping lead the blues into the playoffs!!

WOW, just got back from DC. great time. went with a couple of friends and met them there. they are from grand forks. lot less stressful when the sioux arent there but i cant wait til they are back !! DC was great. lots of historic sites obviously. drank a ton as always on these trips. met tons of great college hockey fans from all over the united states. very cool vibe everytime ive ever gone. if you never have gone its a must for a college hockey fan. amazing 2nd game thursday, the beavs simply didnt have it thursday. just got beat overall. great the beaver nation showed up like they did. was fun pregaming it at their party and seeing some old friends. didnt go to the title game but had a blast watching it at the greene turtle bar where i did end up 5 or 6 times in 3 days, got lost i think it was thursday night, man that was interesting wondering DC at 3 am not knowing where the hell i was going a little tipsy, good times as always!! best photo my friend sarah took of the whole weekend, how damn ironic. not one other named jersey and i look and see these 2 at either end of the bar

danny mattson coming in this fall isnt a given at this point. all depends on coaches thinking and VV leaving or not i believe -

-
im going to the coyotes/blues game tonight with osh sr. cant wait to see tj play tonight!! go blues for that playoff push
-
thats spot on, all it takes is 1 team for anyone
-
like i stated my point is they hardly trael. as pointed out those were over 8 seasons. thats my point. i dont care one way or another. just pointing out they hardly travel non conference and its proven in the chedules going back a ways. thats all. the michigan tourney is usually the only one every season with a few spread in here and there. go sioux go beavers lets the beavs in
-
exactly, 8 seasons. its been dicussed here by sagard and gopher33 to maybe why they dont. thats fine but im stating a fact that they hardly ever travel. usually just the michigan tourney. thats my point when others go out east once or twice a season or to a ccha arena here and there. thats all and yes back to topic LET THE BEAVS IN

ushl saturday fink 1g in 4-1 loss, des moines played only 14 players white -1 and 2 pim, in 4-1 loss, des moines played only 14 players bruneteau didnt play saturday in 4-1 loss gleason -2, 4 shots in 4-1 loss, des moines only played 14 players cichy 1g, 1a in 6-4 loss on 5 shots - tied for 2nd in league scoring race with 34-42=76 pts, leader at 82 pts kristo 1a in 8-4 loss -
cichy, kristo, bruneteau are locks to come in and knight should be as well i believe. if VV leaves then add danny mattson most likely. im not sure on forney as of now. i guess we will find out soon enough as hak said he should know in the next couple weeks after VV decides. idealy you want 2 extra forwards when bringing in talent like the sioux do every year and not 3 sitting every night and 1 d man sitting forwards hextall malone frattin trupp toews gregoire davidson zajac lamoureux vandevelde (as of now) cichy kristo bruneteau knight mattson (with VV leaving) making 14 forwards forney (wildcard as we dont know, would make 15 forwards) the D situation should look like this as of now blood fienhage marto lapoint genoway macwilliam gleason GOALIE eidsness dell harrington

very good season for the squad!! now go win one of these except the hockey one
-
i knew KO would be turn into a good pro and hes showing it already. kid can play!
-
hell the gophers dont travel anywhere anyhow besides to mich for that tourney when they do so who cares on your end or do you mean make HE teams travel to mariucci as thats what would happen. BSU plays wcha teams every year and wins as well. they can easily hang in the wcha as of now. just let them in. i guess we will see
-
i like 11 with BSU, just make it work!!

fink will be a 2010 and bruneteau more than likely. if VV leaves then look for kristo, cichy, knight and mattson to be in grand forks as well. if vv stays then mattson could do a year of juniors -
