he did play a year in USHL and tore it up numbers wise for green bay, Named first team All-USHL and to the USHL All-Rookie Team ... 2006 Wisconsin high school player of the year ... http://hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=95356

the reason the lapoint stuff settled down a bit is hak let everyone know that they had him change his game for the teams sake. changed from a pure offensive minded d-man like he was in highschool and juniors to a more defensive minded d-man. he and marto were very very quiet in the first couple months and deserved the critisism they took and then they really both turned their play up a couple notches along with others. hell the whole team stunk for first 2 months and they deserved what they took. i have no problem with any of that as long as it doesnt get personal towards any players as that has nothing to do with the game

thats huge news, time for the organization to move forward and make a complete 180 in their style and overall play. was needed so badly!

it is fine he feels how he does but it is another thing to express it the way he did. he does himself much more good to simply wish derek good luck and not get into the specifics of the situation. mayeb for future dealins with his players when it comes to usa development and college as well. im sure every coach around the nation and usa program took very quick note of this when it was published. could veer younger elite kids away from going to play for him. you just never know as every player/mid has to look out for themselves first off -
a UND to AHL move doesnt make any sense. the pay wouldnt be as much and a few other things that isnt appealing at all. a nhl would be the only other option coming off a head coach gig. maybe there are some that have heard or have asked hak regarding the nhl question.
-
just asking here, not making the assumption that hak would leave or wana leave or be qualified for the nhl but that is a normal thought process of getting to the highest level in any profession. if the wild or other nhl team came knocking does anyone know or have heard anything on hak and his thoughts towards coaching in the nhl as a assistant or head coach?? just curious, thats all as ive never heard it be asked to hak over the years. i know UND may be the peak of jobs for hak but its always interesting to think about. hell it is the off season

i dont get this crap coming from his coach. i understand being frusterated losing your best player and maybe a top D man out there but derek turned down the usa offer last year to play at duluth east and decided with help that this would help him be 100% ready for UND in 2010. i cant wait ot se this kid play alog with nick mattson. 2 very talented d men coming in for 2010 -
and i believe if teams are eliminated in the playoffs then others can and usually join the team if they choose to, parise ect... if their respective teams dont advance
-
or knight instead forney if forney doesnt come back and add bruneteau to that as well coming in. if VV leaves than rowney or mattson but i see VV staying as of now actually gona be interesting to see how this works for hak and coaches. i believe tey would only want 2 extra forwards rather than 3 but thats just a guess on my part. in for sure kristo, cichy, bruneteau and knight i believe wildcard forney 2 that could be on fence with forney and or VV leaving danny mattson, rowney
-
well they did suck pretty bad for a while and the bag was more for fun than anything as they were pretty bad for a month or 2
-
mattson is a 2010 so he will have another year of development

duncan is a numbers loss and leadership loss as we all know. the rest of those seniors are pretty much leadership losses IMO meaning they didnt really put up numbers at all. watkins and kozek didnt and miller did this last year after changing positions. we will see how this freshman crop produces but ill predict they put up better numbers than kozek/watty put up last year in their freshman year alone. now that doesnt mean jack squat as i agree with you on replacing leadership but if VV stays which i believe is is then lets hope he continues from how he played the last month as he was a force and tghen throw genoway in and we have a couple of nice leaders. man i cant wait til october
-
not yet but he is on his way, no injury and he may have gotten the ROY, those young guns they have in st louis are damn good!

thanks a lot! not sure how that hrkac slipped my mind

easy there the gophers dont play out east or should i say will travel to play hockey east/ or other east coast teams that often, thats a fact. especially the last 4 seasons. i think that was the spark of the conversation and thats a fact. yeah they went out there 04/05. not a big deal really as i couldnt care less but its been brought up here by gopherguy33 that the gophers dont travel east for whatever reasons that often. thats all..happy off-season and i cant wait for the beating at the ralph again next october. i was more comparing the gophers traveling hockey east and that area compared to how the sioux travel east more than anything as the sioux went to boston then harvard then michigan all this last year. just as many road games non conference as the gophers have had in the last 4 seasons combined almost. just highlighted from this last season more than anything as most teams just take 1 road series non conference for the most part as i realize that but the sioux will take 2 per season almost yearly and thats a fact jack 2008/09 the gophers didnt go anywhere non conference, only road wcha games so that sparked the conversation (0 non conference road games) 2007/08 the gophers went to mich and mich st and all other road games were wcha games (2 non conference road games) 2006/07 the gophers went to ohio state (2 non conference road games) 2005/06 the gophers go to mich and mich state ( 2 non conference road games) 2004/05 the gophers go to BU for 2 games

per brad http://www.areavoices.com/undhockey/ my bad if already discuees but who are the 2 + teams that will vote against BSU at this time if anyone has that info?? For a while now, I've been trying to figure out if Bemidji State has enough votes to get in the league. From what I've gathered, the Beavers don't have the votes right now. They aren't far away, though, and it's still possible. But right now, I don't think they have the eight. I would be surprised if the league takes a vote at the April meetings. My guess is that they wait to see how things play out this summer with the possible collapse of some CCHA teams.

columbus never gave him a fair shot. i would love to see him the new wild coach. some actual offense would be cool to see
