  1. yeah he played 63 games and played all aspects of the game as well. fowler is dam good. mattson and forbort are the real deal and forborts size with his skill will make him a potential top 15 pick next summer. very rare to have that size along with that skill
  2. they are waiting on forney. we will know right away when he makes his decision. important decision for him all around. hope he does come back with the year he had in USHL
  3. matt white is also on there so make it 4
  4. per brad http://www.areavoices.com/undhockey/ Checking in quick here as the news-on-vacation streak is alive and well. TRF goalie Zane Gothberg committed to UND tonight and will likely join the Sioux in 2012. Also, the NHL's Central Scouting Bureau released its player to watch list for 2010 and four UND recruits are on it. herald article One of the top boys high school hockey goalies in Minnesota is heading to UND. Thief River Falls
  5. forbort, n mattson and parks are the only 3 right? just making sure i didnt miss any. thanks for the link
  6. it is interesting how fans all feel different regarding players of other teams after they leave college. i dont care either way regarding any non sioux who has or doesnt have success in the nhl or any pro league. once they are gone from the wcha they are gone and the new crop comes in to dislike IMO but i understand others points as well for disliking and thats not wrong either doesnt mean i dont have my handful of players i didnt like but i guess dont care really after they leave unless they personally did something to me which isnt ever the case
  7. yes but as we all know things get leaked out all of the time and rarely with hak and his players do things ever get out detailed
  8. yeah i agree. hes had a hell of a college career. just suprising with the lack f experience on my end but everyone needs a break and maybe this was his. will be interesting how it plays out. lots of assistants in and out of there lately
  9. i guess i should have named this sioux/wcha off season thead but anyhow a interesting gophers hire for full time assistant in potulny assistant Grant Potulny, who was named a volunteer assistant coach in May, has been elevated to a full-time position following a national search process. In addition, Justin Johnson has been named the team
  10. haha, thats what i figured but didnt see any icons
  11. really? all these players are friends and have been since they were yay big. what about dean blais if you dont want to attend due to gopher players?
  12. another reason i think david toews has a big sophmore year. he was so banged up last year along with many others per brad http://www.areavoices.com/undhockey/ A story in Newsday talks about the shoulder and wrist injuries that David Toews battled last season and kept him out of the lineup at the end. You could add Toews to the list of walking wounded that were on the roster at season's end: Chris VandeVelde played with a separated shoulder, Joe Finley with a separated shoulder, Evan Trupp with a broken finger and Brett Hextall with a broken foot. I'm also hearing that Brad Eidsness was not at 100 percent at the end of last season. Don't know exactly how banged up he was, though. There were probably others that we don't know about. It can be difficult to get injury info sometimes.
  13. yeah one of these years im gona make it back for this. sounds great!
  14. you are missing out then on some great food around the world, time to expand

  16. i heard runblings of these 2 issues with uaa and cc. i see moore going major junior. would be a huge loss for cc. hell of a player and 1st rd pick this last june per western blog http://www.westerncollegehockeyblog.com/ Alaska-Anchorage recruit Spencer Bennett has signed with the Portland Winterhawks of the WHL. Bennett was recently drafted in the 5th round of the NHL Draft by the Calgary Flames. Meanwhile, Colorado College recruit John Moore says he is still undecided about whether or not he will play next season at Colorado College.

    Ryan Hill

i agree with the playing time but for down the road like next season and beyond or obviosly injuries sometimes gives people chances but think we will see a solid 6 out there nightly barring injuries. go sioux

    Ryan Hill

fiehnage will show everyone this year what type of a player he is. simply put things didnt break for him last year starting with finley out then moving miller which just moved another d man back in the pecking order but the guy has skills and will show them this season. cant wait

    Ryan Hill

we will see genoway/blood/marto/lapoint/fienhage/macwilliam on a nightly basis i believe. gleason as 7th guy and hill knowing his role right now. i can see in a couple years maybe hill gets a serious crack as he sounds like a hell of a hard worker. all teams need a guy like this if he turns out to be what it sounds like.

    Ryan Hill

its great to have guys like HILL on a team. im sure it only helps that he knows his role and a type of player that is gona bust his ass on a daily basis. not saying orhers dont but you get my point. the 6 guys we will see out there on the norm will be genoway/lapoint/marto/blood/fienhage/macwilliam. gleason as the 7th and hill as the 8th guy. i bet we may see hill as a regular a couple years down the road.
  21. earl has played 9 games in the nhl and irmen hasnt. they may be similar players career wise but i like earls overall talent over irmens
  22. not sure if forborts team will be doing more play vs d3 and d1 teams though and maybe the other team doing the ushl schedule. i guess im not sure as ive heard both
  23. is forbort and his USA team playing a full ushl schedule now?
