  5. actualy have had email contact with tate's dad over the year not knowing his kid would ever end up at UND and i recieved one yesterday and i want to share a paragraph he wrote and it is pretty sweet to read and wanted to share it with all you other fans as well I can recall taking him to a DU-UND game several years ago and, from that point, he's always had a great affection for the Fighting Sioux! After all those early morning practices, years of games, some disappointments along the way.....I'm just so unbelievably thrilled for him that this dream has come true. As you mentioned in your blog, 3rd string goalies rarely see the ice. And he has no unrealistic expectations. But, being a smaller goalie, he plays a bit different game...and I know he'll give this experience his all, at every level....even pushing Brad and Aaron -if just a bit. I realize I'm sounding like a dad here..but he's a good kid, good grades, and will be all that the coaches ask him to be. To be a part of the University of North Dakota hockey team....what a blessing!!
  6. per brad Landon Wilson signs with Texas Former UND forward Landon Wilson has signed a two-year deal with the Texas Stars of the AHL. Texas is the AHL affiliate of the Dallas Stars -- the team that Wilson played for last season. Wilson will stay within the organization and possibly join fellow former Sioux Brad Miller in Texas. Kyle Radke also is in that organization. Wilson is 34 years old and entering his 15th pro season. "Landon Wilson brings instant credibility and a veteran prescence to our locker room," Texas Stars general manager Scott White said. "He is a guy who is very capable of scoring a lot of goals and he will be a huge asset for us in developing young prospects. Landon is a big power forward who will be a leader for us on and off the ice." .................................. Two Sioux throw out first pitches Apparently, Zach Parise isn't the only former Sioux hockey player who knows how to play ball. A week after Parise nearly hit a home run off of Twins manager Ron Gardenhire during batting practice, a pair of former Sioux players threw out first pitches at Major League Baseball games. Jonathan Toews threw out the first pitch for the Chicago Cubs, while Mike Commodore threw out the first pitch for the Cincinnati Reds. Apparently, Commodore really is a fantastic baseball player and former Sioux coach Kelvin Ziegler tried to convince him to play for the Sioux during his days in Grand Forks. 7. per brad Pro camp scrimmage open Wednesday night There will be a scrimmage at Brad Berry's pro camp open to the public on Wednesday night. The event -- which is free -- begins at 7:45 p.m. in the Olympic arena. The Olympic Arena doors (northwest corner) will be open to the public at 7 p.m. Former UND players scheduled to participate include: Mike Commodore, Matt Greene, David Hale, Jean-Philippe Lamoureux, Robbie Bina, Colby Genoway, Bryan Lundbohm, Andrew Kozek, Matt Watkins, Brad Miller, Zach Jones and more. Fans will have a chance to bid on signed game-worn jerseys from the scrimmage via a silent auction. Each participating player will sign the jersey for the winner of the individual auction. Proceeds from the sale will benefit the Altru Pediatric Unit. Consessions also will be available, including a $5 value pack consisting of a hot dog, 20 oz soda and a bag of chips.
  8. i think we all do but lets be realistic about the situation. good chance he will never play in a game for the sioux like thousands of other 3rd string goalies that have came through every ncaa hockey program through the years. its basically the last spot on a roster but a important one in regards to character/grades/and making the others better by competing hard daily
  9. the 3rd guy always has to know his role which they mostly always do, be a good teammate and take some pressure off other 2 goalies in practice and just love to be a part of a great tradition! congrats!
  10. like those overall. especially the 2nd line. hextall could be thrown on top line as well. will be fun to see how it plays out. not bad though
  11. he very could be or it could take some time. we will see but yes hes experienced. it seems hes one punch or big hit away from some problems as well with his past fighitng injuries. hope hes nice and healthy as hes a tough nose player!
  12. not sure yet but i would say the 12 you see out there nightly will be this 12 but obviously injuries and other factors will change here and there but i would count on these 12 off that bat...and no its not a negative on the 2 i left as healthy scratches as you only roll 12 forwards and those are the 12 i see playing nightly for the most part and same for my D thinking. im not that great with the pairings for forwards and d so ill leave that up to you that are malone gregoire trupp vandevelde zajac hextall lamoureux toews kristo cichy rowney knight davidson bruneteau ....................... genoway blood lapoint marto finehage macwilliam gleason hill ....................... eidsness dell ?

  21. we do seem full but nolan seems to be a nice d man prospect. if there is an opening it would be great to have him be the 3rd zajac to skate for the sioux. 11 would be the only way if so
