A mix of four year guys and high end youngsters is the key as I see it. I don't want to end up on the Wisconsin plan of giant freshmen classes that struggle for two years, compete in the third year, and have a chance at a natty in the fourth. Character guys are important, but so are the blue chippers.

They also don't make the tourney every year.

We've had teams that didn't have the best players make the frozen four. We've also had teams that I felt had the best players not win the natty. This team may not have the best players, but I guess I expected more.

Just saying, if they were to play a perfect game tomorrow it wouldn't be enough to fill me with hope.

If they were to win 23-0 tomorrow I would still be cautiously optimistic at best.

That's what makes the soft ones look so bad. This team can't score enough to compensate for any lapses in play by any individual or position group.

He was the most prominent example I could think of, but you see players bitching at the refs all the time on the closeups as they go to the box. If it's a 10 for one guy it should be a 10 for everybody. The consistency of the officiating is what annoys me more then anything.

While I agree, how come Monty can chew the refs a&* all night without repercussions.

I'm sure we've all seen the refs have to physically drag a guy to the box without giving them a 10.

As a lifelong Vikes fan I don't feel like they're ever in range.

From Grand Forks, just live in Moorhead. I wish I could help Berry. This is a hard team to watch, they don't seem to do anything real well. It seems like in the last 20 years they've always been real good at one aspect of the game.
