  1. Weber St. is currently a top 5 team, I'd venture to say the top 5 teams are a step up above the rest in FCS. They have been in the playoffs each of the last 3 seasons with a 3-3 record. With that said, and adding in Stewart Stadium, this game is a challenge for us. A win over the Wildcats would put the Hawks in an above the bubble playoff position with 2 games to go. A loss and we could be heading towards the mercy of the playoff committee as an independent, putting Bubba in a position of having 4 potentially playoff talented teams in 6 seasons and possibly resulting in a total of one playoff game - a disappointing loss. This game result will be huge, in the view we will have looking forward next Monday morning.
  2. UND at Weber State University Sat. (11-9)Ogden, Utah Weber was started as a private school in 1889 and became state supported in 1933. Presently 26,681 students. Stewart Stadium Opened in the 1950's and was expanded in 1966 Capacity - 17,312 Surface is synthetic turf, natural grass until 2011. Wildcats - Purple & White https://weberstatesports.com/sports/football
  3. Maybe with any luck you will get to eat your own cake. There is more to life than Fooootball. If the Hawks surprise you next year, will you waggle your tail home and stay home?
  4. That's the question of this thread, did we make the right move by not playing the 12th game. If we beat Weber and run the table, yes. Otherwise be answered at the end of regular season.
  5. How large may the pool of teams be at 8-4? Also, will all be worthy of FCS playoffs? Hopefully that scenario will not be a bubble burst for us, being an independent bothers me a little in that situation!
  6. For some this will be an exciting day of FB, others may take the day off from college FB. One thing for sure, we get neither a W or a L. Will this be the day our season will be remembered for, as NCAA allowed scheduling of 12 games? Posters already starting posting playoff concerns regarding the 7-4 vs. 8-4 season record. A potential loss today with a 12th game could of been detrimental, so we have that set aside? Can we get the W (or quality loss on the road) in a week @ Weber St, this rest will have to figure into that result. By some ratings, we started the FCS season with the toughest schedule, at this point in the season we have around the 7th toughest. This plan of a 2nd bye may end up being a smart move for us. Considering results to date, I like were we are sitting.
  7. He looks very familiar, along with the bottle and cig both in the left hand. Could be mistaken, but he really seams like a guy that was in our group of my college buddies last month at homecoming!
  8. If 8-4 beats us out cuz we're 7-4, that's go n 2 hurt 4 yrz 2 cum.
  9. You mean, kind of like; if we get 3/4 of the fans to show up, we are at 75% attendance?
  10. Definelty questionable. I get 9 FB season tickets, consedering I already pay CC with my hockey tickets - very reasonalbe to me.
  11. Downtown has been a construction traffic problem all summer, and I'll be worth it. Intersection of Old Highway 81 and Demers Ave ahead at the lights. Nice sidewalk, color coded mid street aprons, color coded sidewalks, pavers in the berm. All new ground coverings from building face to building face - sidewalk, street, & berm. Future Hugos, Alerus Bank, Appartments. Just to left of parking ramp is Central HS.
  12. Facing east standing on Demers. Dark Brown low building to the right & left of GC Bank sign will be the Gresh Steak House. Closeup of the start of building of Hugos and all.
  13. I was going to post this, glad you did. This needs to be factored in the decision making progress as well. No committee, seems like things go a little north in those meetings. Those that have the power, BANG get her done.
  14. This does not seem like a good start, maybe to problem starts with the process (committee?).
  15. At this time (Bubba's 6th yr) the student sections should of already been moved away from mid field (our neighbors have already all done so) and by now I was hoping we would be posting about how hard it is to get tickets. Win and they will come!
  16. Yes ^^^ , the advantage of timely loud home crowd noise - this can not be over emphasized. The Alerus crowd had this down in it's early years and IMO this game was the closet to that in the Bubba era (and the Hawks Nest was less than 2/3 full towards the end). Wondering if UND's athletic department needs to think this one through? Once understood, it's a no brain-er.
  17. Student Sections, in summary: Montana starts at 30 yard line on one side and wraps around into part (1/3) of that adjacent end zone. Montana State is behind one end zone and adds a very small part wrapping over to 10 yard line only on one side. SD is 15 yard line to goal line on one end. SDSU is all behind one end zone. NDSU starts at about 32 yard line on one side and wraps around into half of that adjacent end zone. UND (214-213-212) has on one side, midfield (some on both sides of the 50) and continues north to the 15 yard line. Two sections 214 & 213, are better than any of our neighbors. If we moved the student sections over (north) two sections, giving them Sections 212, 211, & 210; they would then be from the 30 yard line to the end of the end zone. That would still be just as good of seating as any of our neighbors. The time to move them is now (like this next off season) when their attendance is poor rather than after next season when the Alerus should be filling up - next year the Hawks could have very few loses? Next week, do our neighbors give their students as many seats as we do? 3 sections of 725 seats each = 2,175 or 17.7% of seats, capacity is 12,283.
  18. UND Student Seating - Blue Sections On one side of the field, both sides of the 50 and to the north to about the 15. Upper and lower sections.
  19. Seating Charts of FCS Div I U's in our area regarding STUDENT SEATING: Montana - Maroon Sections Montana State - Brown Sections South Dakota Sate - Black Sections South Dakota - Gray Sections North Dakota State - Green Sections
  20. I'll edit my post, Thanks, and I owe you a beer, give me a heads up the next time you're at The Ralph. PM me.
  21. I like the annual BSU games in that they are close/a neighbor. Good for the sport in the area! I rather not schedule games like Canisius, UAH, and so on? Loosing to anyone hurts!
  22. Big sky chose our conference games dates a few years ago, but not the start times - with FB, the conference schedule is planned more into the future. This schedule was out before we left. We decided to give an agreed upon two year FB notice along with early exit in other sports and therefor no exit fee for UND. Also agreed to be an independent in FB, therefor no conference awards. What I heard this morning is that the game start is a local thing and Chaves agreed to a 12:00 start with entities involved having their input. As mentioned just as of late here, quite a few things to factor in. Also think an early start would give us a little (as light as it may be) advantage being MSU is in an later time zone.
