This always comes to my mind. How did we really get matched up with Nicholls - who had a higher bid then us, could of that been the reason? Is there anytthing that makes sense as to why we should be matched up with Nicholls, unless the committe was looking to put us on the road? Then, why would a game winner in the south be playing in Fargo next weekend? NDSU should be playing the winner of like 8th vs. 9th teams of the 16 first round teams?

I heard that's were the $50,000 came from - The Ralph, and that in reality would still be FB money because of the 52% take on FB tickets during the season. My questin would be, why didn't they throw in $100G?

Round 1 vs Nicholls (no bid bitching)

I was thinking over this 60% run and 40% pas for Nicholls' playing style and we just might do the opposite? -

This $3.75 probably had some laughs during the process, little did we know how bad the Math was. -

Probably nobody is laying money down yet, busy with the Math? -

Maybe we will wait one more week before we change this? -

So this would be the thread without the Math? The warm weather might be welcomed, hopefully it doesn't rain - I don't think that would help us. -
Giving you a heads up, maybe you better stay out of the "Nicholls St., 1st Round" thread this Tuesday evening, a lot of Math over there.

FCS Football Polls

I know I recently posted a FCS playoff bracket, but this one just seems to look better. -
Nice job of editing. I'll have to figure that technique out some day. The tents seem to be a big concern for some. They've been using them for a couple of years now, and Saturday will be the last time as we will beat them and they will have new visiting locker rooms next fall. The NCAA has been well aware of this set up and let them continue, so we just need to tighten up our chin straps and play ball. Like South Dakota did! Predicting they'll have 9,500 fans on Saturday and come out OK on their bid.

Nicholls is part of the University of Louisiana System UND game is 3:00 PM Saturday, 1st round. John Guidry Stadium opened in 1972 10,500-seat multi-purpose stadium in Thibodaux, Louisiana. It is home to the Nicholls Colonels

Over the past 24 hours, there’s generally been two emotions when Nicholls fans see the FCS Playoff bracket. Elation that the Colonels get to host a postseason game for the third year in a row. Outrage that Central Arkansas is a national seed and Southeastern Louisiana has an objectively easier draw. https://www.houmatoday.com/sports/20191125/mike-gegenheimer-luck-of-draw-not-so-lucky-for-nicholls-football

So with a UND FCS bid on a possible game at the Alerus next Saturday, how much more would of Chaves have bid without the hockey series at the Goofs? Maybe that's the reason we lost the bid to Nicholls St.? Too many fans already had plans for the TC's. Lets assume we were playing at Western Michigan in hockey this coming weekend and at MN the week after (just for sake of this argument, switching hockey weekends). Not nearly as many fans would go to W. Mich. We had just under 10,000 fans for Richmond. With attendance down a little this year, if we bid $20 a seat thinking we were going to get 9,000 fans in this W. Mich. new scenario; do we bid $10 - $20,000 more than what we did? NCAA gets the bid or after expenses 75%, whichever is more. Maybe we could of bid north of $100,000. $20 x 9,200 fans = $181,000 have to factor 200 students at $5 less $46,000 for expenses, a guess $135,000 net x 75% = $101,250 Could of this been close and could of we got in under this hypothetical scenario?

So will the MN hockey games hurt our attendance at the FB game at Nicholls, maybe not much? What if we would of won the home game bid and this FB game was in GF, it surely would of? Did the selection committee know? Our only other playoff game, we had a Boston school playing us in a home game at Madison Square Garden.

You do realize we have a new cook, oven not level, sink leaks, and floor needs sweeping. Seriously, there are many bright spots, it's still early. -
Let's go UND, what a great Monday morning! Would of, could of, should of, etc. We swept FB & MH! We're in the FCS playoffs!

FCS Football Polls
BarnWinterSportsEngelstad replied to BarnWinterSportsEngelstad's topic in Football
Yes, kind of surprised me we were paired with Nicholls State, this shows we were not the 24th ranked team. There is some regoinalization in these match ups, but not apparently in our case, Louisiana is a long ways away. The 24th team would of been paired with like the 9th team, and Nicholls wasn't the 9th team (in another words on the bubble for a first round bye). They also wouldn't match up and move #9 team to Bozoville for second round. -

I would think this is mostly correct, don't know where they showed us identified as #24.
