The fact DVL has service to Denver via United is a major issue to getting some type of west connection. UA has tried GFK a couple of times, but canceled quickly.

Ya, I don't understand this talk about a new stadium. The Alerus is an average place at best, but no way is anything else being built until at a minimum the bonds are paid off. Grand Forks already has two large indoor facilities a third would just be silly. Let's be honest, a new stadium will not be outdoors because getting people to a week 10 or later game will be very difficult. U of Minnesota is having a hard time selling seats for late-season games and they have a way bigger fan base and location.

Forum Communications will be implementing paywalls for all their sites in the near future. I get that newspapers should receive income, but paywalls are rarely the answer.

I rarely went there when in GF. It wasn't because I didn't like it, mostly just forgot about the restaurant. Never was disappointed though when I did remember to order Kind of the same lines of that sandwich place by Tim Hortons. Decent food, just never first on my mind

Crookston would be the 3rd smallest D1 Hockey School (Canisius & St. Lawrence are smaller), certainly the smallest public school. Where is the money coming from to start a program? I can't think any alumni that would that deep of pockets. They are already terrible in all other sports, why would hockey be any different? The only item in their favor is an area to suit their needs. Just seems an interesting move to me

Sorts related, any prospects in the Manitoba/Saskatchewan area? Love that pipeline and I think we have a good edge over a lot of schools in that region. The talent may not be as wide, but UND should always be on their radar.

I have no proof but believe Bismarck's food scene is due to it being more "insulated" than Grand Forks. There is nothing outside of Bismarck for 2 hours, unlike Grand Forks with Fargo just a short drive away.
