It didn't take much of an insider to figure out Zach wouldn't be spending 4 years at UND. I think UND needs to give one of the assistants the job (at least for this year) and then see how it goes. On the staff, under Blais, was there one person doing the majority of the recruiting? If so, that is the guy that should be head coach now.

FrozenTundra, You are right, Ballard was lousy at defense. I can't figure out why the Gophers kept him. It was kind of like how they hung on to the Leopold and Martin kids as long as they did - neither of them were very good either. The Gophs should take after Blais. He was smart enough to get rid of the offensively-challanged Zach Parise before he hurt the Sioux too much.

Well, I didn't play hockey at UND (aside from the killer Law team we had ) so I saw no reason to pick a school based on my like or dislike of its hockey program. Anyone who does so needs help. I really enjoyed school at UND.

Nope...UND law grad 2001. Yes, I did time with Lockney, Zeirdt, Grijalva and Co. and it got me a good job in real estate and tax law, but the employment rates and average salaries they boast of simply failed to apply to most. Just warning you before you start bangin' on NDSU for it's future Manpower employees....I can name a good number of classmates who, when they FINALLY did get a LEGAL job, it was indeed with temp joints. ps- UND Law had it's own re-accredidation troubles...hence, no more Dean W. Jeremy Davis...

Don't get too cocky though. UND Law isn't really putting many into high paying jobs (despite what Brickson might be saying!) ...

While there in no need to say he "sucks," I think you are looking throught the Sioux goggles a bit much with this statement. There is nothing wrong with saying teh guy simply wasn't good enough to play everynight. That is maybe a credit to how good the rest ofthe team was...but if he was as talented...it would have shown somewhere

yes he came back from a broken jaw quickly, but do remember all the garbagegoing on the preceeding weeks? Throwing water bottles at refs, crying about no calls and such? The guy can flat out whine with the best of them about people playing "dirty" - then go out the next night and wack someone from behind or get his stick in someone's earhole.

uhhh,,,but when it comes to Sioux goalies, stats seem to be the justification for their allegedly not getting any respect well, maybe not exactly in those words, but Coach Brooks was on record defending such position many times during the whole Parise ND (Capt. Lou Nanne trying to snatch him from UND situation.) He said that over recent history you can't argue against UND's success....this stated on his weekly appearances on KFAN during the time...kind of a high profile situation that most hockey followers were quite aware of.
