  1. Do you feel like this about every UND sport? It sure seems like it.
  2. This is interesting to me because I agree with a lot of what people on the board are saying both ways. For me, the bottom line is that Geno needs to do what he thinks is best for him and his future. Right or wrong it is for him to decide and the current rules allow for it to happen. It is unfortunate that loyalty to a school, program, and coach is largely a thing of the past.

A lot of the time I feel like consistent play execution is a big issue for the offense. It is also apparent we don't have the horses up front for some of the run game schemes and they need to make some adjustments. You can have a great offensive play call but if timing is off even a little the play is blown. One guy misses his assignment the play will likely fail. Consistency is huge and I think it was a major problem last season.

Yes, god forbid players have any personal responsibility for F"ing up.
  5. What really bothers me is that they attempted to flee but couldn't get away. We clearly need to recruit my speed to this football team.

I understand your point but what are you really looking for? A team only has so many offensive plays in a game and the UND team philosophy is clearly to eat clock and run fewer actual plays in order to protect the defense as much as possible. John should get more touches than 7, 9, and 8 in games. Was he hurt or dinged up in any of those games? Brady needs carries as well because many times he was the better RB always getting forward and not losing yards. James looked pretty good as well but once again to get him more carries you need to take them from another player. Most people on the message board seem to want the offense to open up and pass more which is fine but that would also take carries away from the backs. Rudolph didn't throw much to the RB's in the flats but that might be because almost every time Studs made that type of pass attempt it was inaccurate and turned out to be a wasted down instead of an easy completion. Yes these are the best players on the field for UND but how to actually spread it around is difficult because we aren't going to have 45 run plays in a game in which all backs around 15 carries. My opinion is John shouldn't get as many backfield touches as the other two backs but should be used in the passing game a lot more as well as get most of the jet sweeps and so on. The offensive line needs to get a lot better and a lot more consistent with run blocking and the entire offense will look different and be dramatically improved. Inside zone can hit a lot of different holes based upon how the blocking works out and the OL was consistently getting pushed around by the opposing teams DL which gives it little chance to work.
  7. I only caught part of the game but when you turn the ball over 10 times against a bad team you have no shot to win. Do it against a good team and it's a bloodbath.
  8. The complaints started the day he was hired and before he ever actually did any coaching at UND. A lot of fans on this forum were pissed at the hire.
  9. The last time Minot State was any good they consisted of a bunch of 25 year old Canadian of which more than a few were cycling steroids. That was back in the NAIA days, Minot is a really hard place to recruit but they were able get some guys back then that couldn't get through the NCAA clearinghouse. I think Mary is running into some of the same problems now, they were a pretty good NAIA team but have struggled with the move to D2 football.
  10. I certainly don't agree with everything you say in this post but I didn't understand pulling the redshirt on Studsrud for not reason. They also didn't give Mollberg the chance to come back and earn the job at QB which seemed foolish to me because Studs was still young and not really ready to go at the time. As for the rest of your post, not so sure I can get on board because Joe didn't consistently show much in his playing time at UND. Yes he had some good games but a lot of ugly was mixed in. He came to UND as this athlete at QB and I think perception was a QB that you could run and get out of trouble and make plays when needed. I never saw that and I think he bulked up to much and got slow or maybe he never was all that fast.
  11. The type of offense you choose to run isn't really a major problem because NDSU seems to be fine running a power running offense. How you choose to run and execute said offense is the real issue. If UND went with a wing-t I would be fine as long as it was run well and timing and execution are good. An offense like that tends to lack flexibility but it isn't like the offense has been super adaptable lately anyway. P.S. I am not advocating a switch to the wing-t. I am just making the point that it isn't what you do, but how well you do it that matters.
  12. Talking with coaches in Sioux Falls they seemed to think most of the coaching talent at USF back then was with other coaches on his staff. No idea if that is true but it is what I was told.
  13. Everyone wanted Mollberg to be a stud and he just wasn't. He certainly played well at times and poorly at times and it's unfortunate the way things worked out for him.
  14. Yeah, I think those guys make a big difference but the defense still struggled in other areas and that is why I didn't thing 3 player fix the situation. IMO the DL was a major letdown this season and what looked going into the season like a strength ended up struggling.
  15. We have very comparable hockey resume, my football experience is just a little more extensive.
  16. I get you, but Alabama dumps most of the roster into the NFL every year and have enough depth and recruiting to be a top five team every year. Alabama is outside the norm for any college team.
  17. Yeah, that's my daughter. Nice of you to notice. Do you want to break out coaching credentials now? That might be fun but way off topic.
  18. So after making the playoff one time in FCS we have turned into Bison fans and think we have Alabama depth all over the field.
  19. I disagree, 3 players would not have fixed the d and they were terrible when Reyes was in early in the year as well.
  20. shhhh... don't point out the real problems from this season.
  21. Voicing concerns and wanting heads to roll aren't the same thing.
  22. He looks good, but how good is hard to tell considering the team they are playing looks to be really weak.
  23. After last season, I thought he would switch positions going into this year but UND did a terrible job of recruiting QB's for a couple years and likely forced them to leave him at QB.
