That play is a huge kick in the balls to a team that was already struggling and needed some confidence. I don't think you can say it made a difference in the outcome of the game but it was a big deal.

No they wouldn't, the problems are much deeper than a handful of players. The best LB's don't have a shot when the DL is getting pushed around and right up into them. Yes those players would help but it wouldn't completely fix all the problems.

So Brady has dropped a few passes this year, just like every WR on the team. If you watched the play in which he made the MSU all conference LB miss after the catch you wouldn't or shouldn't have such and issue with the play.

After watching that game you still are going after the OC, that is crazy because he is way down the list of issues for this team right now.

The LB's get the tackles but without the DL holding space and taking up blockers they suffer and both DL and LB are pretty bad right now.

Except USD had true frosh OL kicking the crap out of UND's experienced and strength of the team DL. So yes it isn't the norm but freshman that have been recruited and redshirted should be ready to go. Or at least some of them should be ready to play at a high level.

As a former Offensive Lineman they don't get a pass. The one sack when neither the RT or RG even moved when the ball was snapped. I get they will have some growing pains but getting driven back off the ball isn't acceptable.

I couple poor called hurt as well, the first TD should have counted.

Really, UND tried to pass today but the OL sucked and the WR's can't consistently catch the ball.

It's crazy how horrible the run defense is right now. It was the strength of the defense under Bubba up until this season. The defensive line which was supposed to be a strength is an absolute weakness right now. I see a high pad level and most of them just flat getting pushed around. Granted some of the problem is stunting right out of position on quite a few plays. If the run defense doesn't get fixed I have trouble seeing UND winning another game this year. The LB's are a problem as well but they are undersized and are getting the UND DL jammed right into them a lot of the time. MSU beat the crap out of us up front today.

He wasn't sliding, it looks more like his lower body was hit as he turned up field and when he saw the other hit coming he tried to avoid it. I have only watched Streveler play a few times but I can't recall ever seeing him come close to sliding. Doesn't really fit the player that I watched against UND as he tends to run through a lot of tackles.

I actually agree the deck is stacked against him as far the ILB's are concerned. For the most part I am completely on board with how Schmidt calls the game with a few exceptions on certain plays but I doubt you could ever be in agreement with a play caller all of the time. That being said UND is a defensive team first by Bubba's philosophy and it isn't a secret that is where the bulk of the football talent is. Generally Schmidt has a good amount of talent to work with and I defense first team can't play like that.

Mine is a goalie as well and it's pretty much all she wants to do.

So... why do I not see a bunch of comments ripping into Coach Schmidt? I only ask because it seems only fair for the Coach bashers to be jumping on because the defense was really terrible yesterday. We all know it must be his fault when the players blow an assignment or tackle poorly. Rudolph gets that type of criticism daily on this board but I guess some coaches are bulletproof and some are not. I only got to watch half of the game due to my daughters hockey schedule but what I watched was truly embarrassing. It has been a while since I have watched a UND team play so poorly and make so many dumb mistakes.

Brady actually runs sweep or toss better than John. Sure Santiago is a homerun hitter but doesn't set up or read blocks as well.

That is a decent amount for a ball control offense. Especially considering people on this message board think a overly much of our WR and pass catching talent.

Can we quit the bitching about Rudolph! We all get it, every offensive problem is because of his play calling but it gets old when people keep beating a dead horse.

When I look at it and think the offensive line has been decent. We are not blocking the second and third level very well though.

They can't even manage to say names for most of the North Dakota team.
