  1. Something about how Joe plays reminds me of Daunte Culpepper. He can throw a great deep ball but is really inconsistent with accuracy on the short and mid range throws.
  2. I kinda like it.
  3. South Dakota certainly has a better offense than UND. They are able to run the ball but I don't think the defense as good as UND's. South Dakota will have trouble in conference but the are not a bad team. I think UND/USD would be a good game this year because of the way they match up.
  4. Just because UND has sucked on offense doesn't mean Stoney Brooks defense isn't any good. I think it is reasonable to compare or try to compare to Montana. Clearly Montana will be a much better offensive team but I am not so sure about the defense and that is why I asked.
  5. Is the Montana defense better than the Stoney Brook defense?
  6. In order to fit in with the how the rest of the country views North Dakota. We could be the University of North Dakota Canadians.

  8. Who wrote the rule book that it is a must? I am good with it if the name and mascot are good but I wouldn't want something stupid just because it is related to the state.
  9. Alright, Trojans or Titans it is!
  10. Einherjar - fighters/warriors in Norse Mythology
  11. I guess I like some different names that have been tossed around to different degrees but I am almost positive I will be disappointed in whatever is selected. I have a question, why does the new name need any association to the state or region? It would make sense but I certainly don't think it should be requirement. If the best name also has a regional or state association that's great but if something is better I don't feel it should be pushed aside for that specific criteria. I almost feel like it should be something mythical or extict so it can't be questioned by the party poopers. I know Giants isn't very original or related but a name like that has some interesting logo options.
  12. I didn't see the second half but MSU is a run based/screen pass team for the most part. They were also missing some starters at WR so they may have been conservative for that reason. I doubt they pulled off the gas much as the game really wasn't in hand and part of the scoring came from a pick 6. The offense wasn't lighting it up in the first half either.
  13. You can take a lot of positives out of this game and I only got to watch the first half but I thought Mollberg was having or had a pretty good game with exception of the pick six.
  14. MSU - 45 UND - 17
  15. I tend to agree, I think he should be more willing to pull the ball down and run it. If it isn't happening early just get something out of it instead of an incompletion or INT.

  17. I don't disagree, I just don't believe UND has much ability to throw right now.
  18. You are really playing and planning to not make mistakes and then force the opponent to turn the ball over or make a play in special teams to get a short field and some points. It just looks and feels terrible right now because the offensive talent we have isn't or can't get it done. The line play has been bad, but so has pretty much everything else on offense and I get wanted to do some different things but right now I don't think it would actually help.

  20. Our completion percentage really shows we should just drop back and pass. I would like to see more passing as bad as our passing game is right now it would be counter productive. With our QB we would just turn in over more and maybe complete 1 of 4 passes. It needs to be part of the offense at some point but I don't think UND is capable at this point.
  21. Try to take a realistic view of what the offense seems capable of
  22. I don't think I said that but it explains how he played with a lead and the offenses back then were a lot more capable. Sure we need some more balance but not at the expense of the defense and turnovers and so on. I am all for passing more and creating at least a little balance with the offense, but I really don't see any benefit to it until the team shows improvement and consistency with the passing game. The defense certainly isn't going to shut down some of these really good offenses so we need to see more out of the offense but I didn't think we would be able to beat the top half of the big sky this season anyway.
  23. It still amazes me that some don't get it. The offensive coordinator works for the head coach and needs to work within the philosophy of the head coach. I am pretty sure we found out how Muss wanted to do things after he became head coach, but before that he needed to fall in line with the philosophy of Dale Lennon which is pretty much in line with what Bubba is doing now. After Lennon left the defense suffered and the offense was pass happy. We are currently in the process of completely flipping what we do.
  24. It's more about taking time off the clock and giving the opposing offense less time to run plays. Ideally we get a few first downs but to this point the offense hasn't shown much ability.
  25. When we have better players and consistency they will open up the offense some, but it doesn't make sense until you can actually execute.
