  1. MacKinnon must be who I was thinking of. Looks like it worked out for him.
  2. Northfield makes me think elite academic reputation will be non-negotiable for Geiger. Just a guess though.
  3. Have any made it to the college level? I remember someone from Forest Lake or another northern exurb doing it but didn't realize it was common.
  4. Spencer Anderson of TRF is a new name, listed under HM. Brooks DeMars being from Hugo and playing in Long Island rather than Gentry Academy right down the road is a red flag.
  5. By the holiday break he should already be someone opponents have to keep an eye out for. After every goal in opposing arenas (other than NTDP) he taunts the crowd; opposing fans won't like that.
  6. As pilots say, it's all flyover country.
  7. Curious if we kicked the tires on this guy. Big, C, older and is familiar with the Ralph so won't struggle to handle it like transfers sometimes do. Only thing that gives pause is we haven't had success with Euros for a while now. https://www.eliteprospects.com/player/534190/raimonds-vitolins
  8. https://denverpioneers.com/news/2025/7/24/du-pioneers-hockey-adds-10-incoming-freshmen-for-2025-26-season.aspx We're not the only ones doing a good job recruiting the dub. Chyzowski has an unfavorable reputation in the locker room per a Portland source.
  9. That makes more sense. Good for him.
  10. Ryan Starman of Long Island, which likely means Dave's son, commits to Duluth. He's a fringe player in the NAHL with one year of Juniors left.
  11. Duluth native Kaden Nelson redshirted his freshman year at Michigan State and now transferred to Oklahoma State's ACHA D2 team. Their home ice is over an hour away, quite the downgrade from Munn. Played in OK in the NAHL so might have a girlfriend going there? Skipping all of D3 and ACHA D1 is quite a choice.
  12. Better than what we had. Hawks logo on the shoulder makes me uninterested in buying any though.
  13. Shiny new arena close to home and not located in what is no longer the Dinkytown of my youth is going to appeal to blue chips from Edina, Tonka, etc. I thought UNO's MJ kids were mostly transfers from USports?
  14. Raucous games in St Thomas' new barn will be good for recruiting in the cities, which is admittedly less important than it was prior to MJ eligibility changing. Won't be long before UST has more draft picks on their roster than Duluth, Omaha, etc.
  15. Osterberg was dirty and would turn around and dive. A true Bulldog!
  16. Big Ten changing their playoff format, speculated that NCHC too https://www.collegehockeynews.com/news/2025/07/21_Big-Ten-Set-to-Make-Tournament.php
  17. A good depth forward and potential leader considering he grew up around the game. First MA$$hole in UND history? Achievement unlocked
  18. How do I bet the farm against Minnesota? They lost everyone and brought in a D3 transfer. Bubble team at best right now.
  19. Profits are taxed and end up going to the parent institution, so they spend lavishly to avoid profiting. This is another line item toward that goal, albeit at the expense of other line items.
  20. It's an evolving situation. Ticket surcharges, student fees, etc.
  21. UND will be discussed a lot among this group. https://chl.ca/whl/article/13-whl-players-named-to-roster-for-canadas-national-mens-summer-under-18-team-selection-camp/
  22. Opting into the house settlement gives schools a 20 million cap on what they can share with student athletes across all sports from athletic department revenue. With hockey as the marquee sport UND will likely allocate more to it than other schools, but it's tough to imagine them having the money to spend to the cap.
  23. His dad is only 40 and still playing pro! Looks like the prospect was born during a brief stint in the states, making him a dual citizen.
