When folks see me wearing something Sioux related and start to huff and puff about Native American imagery being offensive, I ask if they've read Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee or are otherwise familiar with the Sioux tribe. I let them know Fighting Sioux is appropriate and honorable, because they knew better than to agree to a peace treaty that was made to be broken. Went down swinging, which is something to be proud of. This is the point at which a reasonable person will drop the indignation.
