  1. Most likely. Does @gfhockey agree?
  2. Is Duluth's exodus because Sandy is coming home as an assistant?!?
  3. https://www.maizenbrew.com/24401199/michigan-hockey-brandon-naurato-transfer-portal-gavin-mckenna-parker-martone-cameron-korpi
  4. CHLers also have scholarships paid by their team per the educational package, with one year paid per season played. Might be reformed soon but they are guaranteed for everyone that already fulfilled their end of the agreement.
  5. Former teammate (possibly linemate?) of Strinden's at Northstar.
  6. Dubinsky to UW is not a shocker, he's from North shore of Chicago.
  7. Socioeconomics is another part of NIL. Hockey players aren't as likely to turn around and give NIL $ to family, etc. Harvard was able to pay for their team to relocate to Florida during the pandemic due to a benefactor, likely a parent. I've also heard of more than one college team flying on the player's family's private jet. Point is, there are more players that don't see NIL money as life-changing compared to other sports. Everyone getting something, even if it is only low four figures, would help avoid resentment. We can be strategic with the pot we have.
  8. Forgot about that, good point. If he doesn't arrive in the fall, it'd be interesting to know what Dane's preference for him is between USHL and WHL.
  9. Not the greatest examples/comparisons, but I remember Christian Cakebread, Braden Costello and Carter Randklev all having good early showings in the USHL then flaming out before making it to campus. If he keeps it up in the playoffs, then we can rule out beginners luck, hopefully they succeed and provide a good sample size.
  10. Jackson Hole or Dane County fire departments will have to suffice
  11. Pinto and Sanderson both with goals in a 2-1 win.
  12. His timeline is incorrect. Miller was drafted, then the victim's mom reached out to a Coyotes journalist to bring the story to light. Then UND booted him. The league didn't say he wasn't welcome until a few years later when the Bruins signed him to a free agent contract.
  13. More Zakreski scouting from last night: Screened the goalie on a PP goal right off the bat. Good netfront presence is noticeable about him. Finished every check; doesn't have the size of the heavy line (and less likely to get a cup of coffee in the N like they all did), but plays that way more than any forward we've had since them. Team was down by 1 at the end of the third; didn't leave the ice and was leading strategy conversation the whole time. They scored an EA goal with under 30 seconds that wouldn't have happened without him keeping possession and moving it in tight. Got absolutely rocked right in front of me in OT; skated gingerly back to the bench but was out there next shift like nothing happened. Wasn't going to miss a chance to skate in the playoffs! Game went to 2OT and he still had gas. Energy guy through and through, foot always on the pedal. He's on a point drought. Scored two goals in the first period of Game 1 and hasn't registered anything since (up 3-1 in the series); had two Grade A looks that he didn't convert. On the flip side, had two slick set ups that more skilled teammates would have converted. The points will come, and he shouldn't have trouble adjusting to NCAA. Game 5 is Friday at 7pm pacific, free on Victory Plus.
  14. Mikey DeAngelo could be an option at center. Stats aren't great but that's not the whole story obviously.
  15. Much like I wish I didn't know the backstory on Eades, outside of any malfeasance with the trademark I don't want to know any more about Berry's termination.
  16. Specific incident, or known locker room cancer?
  17. Whitelaw back in the portal. Maybe he and Strathmann can get the band back together
  18. Dubinsky leaving Duluth for his Senior year. Was always solid on the back end for them.
  19. Funny how when the kids of the Steel's owner were there it was the top program in the USHL, and now it's nothing special.
  20. He just dropped the gloves!
  21. Watching Winterhawks game 3 tonight while filing taxes, Zakreski is net front on PP1 and up top on PK. It's free on Victory Plus, no account required. Going tomorrow night, keep an eye out for a Sioux fan behind the net on the left side of the broadcast.
  22. From McMahon's newsletter today: " An executive search firm has been reaching out to potential coaches about a potential opening. I realize that’s vague. But from what I’ve been told, there is a firm quietly working in the background trying to gauge interest in a college hockey head coaching job, “if it were to open.” Several coaches have been contacted by this firm. Details are sketchy, but I’m going to keep working on it. It’s possible we haven’t seen the last coaching domino fall this offseason. " That's either Carle or Pandalfo
