  1. Two likely first round picks coming in the fall, neither from the Midwest. Berry isn't above reproach but that ain't it.
  2. Glad to see Monty drew in against his brother.
  3. CC's road record is noticeably better than their home record. Obviously at least two of the road wins were OT, but surprising nonetheless.
  4. It's fixed now. Only Quinnipiac has a higher probability of winning their conference tournament than UND.
  5. This isn't quite the lawsuit that breaks the dam for CHL to NCAA, but given that part of the suit is the players losing NCAA eligibility, it might wrangle the NCAA in and give them the upper hand in negotiating their eligibility with the NHL and CHL. https://www.espn.com/nhl/story/_/id/39525364/lawsuit-junior-hockey-violates-antitrust-law
  6. Swankler being a non-factor at Tech is poetic justice.
  7. https://www.si.com/fannation/bringmethesports/gophers/brock-boesers-reason-for-not-playing-for-gophers-is-a-doozy Lucia blew it and we reaped the rewards.
  8. 2016, when the ref leveled Cagguila after his opening goal and Sanderson had the stick-drop tip in. Ended Kyle Connor, Zach Werenski, Zach Hyman and Tyler Motte's NCAA careers.
  9. It's back. Clearly it's not working correctly though, it has denver at 0.8% chance of winning the conference tournament and Omaha at 30%. https://www.collegehockeynews.com/ratings/probabilityMatrix.php
  10. Pandalfo livid and dropping F bombs while a girl behind him laughs taking selfies was a great contrast.
  11. Harvard is a prime example of having draft picks not correlating with success.
  12. https://www.forbes.com/sites/carolschram/2024/02/10/reports-ncaa-hockey-eligibility-rules-could-see-big-changes-ahead/
  13. If this happened we would have more 6 team conferences, possibly exceeding 8 total. Too big of a reward for winning 2 games with a bye.
  14. Something nobody had mentioned is that it rewards locals rather than those who can afford to jet set. And the sooner your team is a lock for the top 8, the sooner jet set fans can book flights and hotels, making it more accessible. It's also yet to be seen if the gap day affects attendance in the current format. It might allow people time to get to a final, but fans of the losing teams in first round won't stick around as much.
  15. Parise scoring for the Avs is weird, but good for him getting more games in. Not his fault the Wild offered him such a lengthy contract.
  16. Given that Providence playing in town despite not hosting is frequently cited when people discuss why neutral sites gotta go, there's a higher chance than usual they don't. There's also an east coast resurgence this year, and Providence is easily reached from plenty of the schools, so attendance is less of a worry.
  17. Still feels like yesterday someone on here cryptically posted @NHLFlyers, said we will understand soon, and out of nowhere Hak went to the Philly. When in fact it was almost a decade ago now.
  18. If Maine makes it through the next stretch of opponents still a #1 seed, they've earned it. All three are borderline tournament teams pretty much in playoff mode.
  19. No, they've got a sizeable lead on us, and with BU in 3rd a loss wouldn't harm them much. Denver's loss erased some our quality wins bonus.
  20. Costantini is flourishing at WMU. Good for him, he showed promise as a freshman but likely lost his scholly after his sophomore slump and hit the portal.
  21. Adversity struck, and they answered. Then the star player skated over to the goalie to (presumably) comfort him after what had to be an emotionally charged evening. Surprised Blake's gesture has yet to be mentioned here.
  22. Blake 4th in the country in points. He shouldn't, but it's possible he signs after the season. Prediction: he is the highest scorer left out of the hobey final 10.
  23. The winners will be high end 16-17 year olds that can live in better places than Iowa at that age, and any start up program given the glut of supply and transfer portal. Hard to say who the losers will be until the BCHL shakeup settles.
  24. Being a #1 seed in SF has some potential issues, albeit both unlikely. We need Omaha to not have a #4 seed (since they are the host), and fellow host UMass to not have a #4 seed if the other 3 #1 seeds are HE schools (as is the case right now). There's a decent chance all 4 #4 seeds are autobids this year; at least 2 are guaranteed. Omaha is likely to be on the road in the first round, so they have a tough road to the #4 seed autobid. They have still never made it to the Frozen Faceoff.
  25. The bid took place before they went D1.
