2025-26 University of North Dakota Hockey Season

There will be a lot of competition for the 5 and 6 spots. We are in good shape to absorb an injury on D. Goalie is unknown, but with that D corp much less of a concern. Victoria ∆ GF ∆ NHL pipeline begins now -
Curious how long they were talking with him. Sounds like someone we can slot into a shutdown line and PK for years to come. Keep the Canadians coming! #VictoriaSioux

Kid is on Pacific standard time or may not want to share it himself, Brad is on vacation, etc. The hope for me was it could be a dual signal with Bueker or someone else, but that doesn't seem likely now.
-
A at 17, C at 18. Exactly the kind of kid we want. If it's this year, it gives Strinden one last chance to prove he's top 6 at this level.
-
Good catch. Per EP: " Josephson is a shutdown centre who outworks the opponents he can’t outsmart. He charges back into the play, overwhelming the puck carrier with an endless barrage of lifts, swipes, grabs, and hits. His feet never stop moving, allowing him to skate through the hands and win the positioning battle "

McMahon's newsletter has info on McQueen's package and maybe some details on Spicer if anyone gets it. I should probably just subscribe, he's gotten away from his Merrimack and HE focus.

https://www.grandforksherald.com/sports/und-hockey/schlossman-does-college-hockeys-recruiting-window-need-some-tweaks 40% of 8/1 commits never ending up where they announced is crazy. The infamous local 3 plus Singleton were the rush commits UND had prior to the new rule.

My recollection is Ford was very responsible in our end and won key draws, but I may be confusing him with Michaud (the gold standard for transfers).
-
Ford and Driscoll were definitely net positives.

Peters only projects Emery to make the team for WJC. Zellers hopefully plays his way in as a local kid. https://www.flohockey.tv/articles/14449430-team-usa-projected-roster-for-world-juniors-2026-after-summer-showcase -

If a goalie turns down a contract to come back and make a run a la Augustine he deserves consideration. Rare but not unheard of.

Re: Spicer, an interview of Powers I listened to a few months back didn't mention Spicer when he discussed the incoming class. Thought it was due to the size and getting away from the Last Chance U stigma.

Carleton debatable, Olaf no. But professors (and people otherwise affiliated with colleges) are more likely to have kids at elite schools.
-
MacKinnon must be who I was thinking of. Looks like it worked out for him.
-
Northfield makes me think elite academic reputation will be non-negotiable for Geiger. Just a guess though.
-
Have any made it to the college level? I remember someone from Forest Lake or another northern exurb doing it but didn't realize it was common.

Spencer Anderson of TRF is a new name, listed under HM. Brooks DeMars being from Hugo and playing in Long Island rather than Gentry Academy right down the road is a red flag.
-
By the holiday break he should already be someone opponents have to keep an eye out for. After every goal in opposing arenas (other than NTDP) he taunts the crowd; opposing fans won't like that.

As pilots say, it's all flyover country. -
Curious if we kicked the tires on this guy. Big, C, older and is familiar with the Ralph so won't struggle to handle it like transfers sometimes do. Only thing that gives pause is we haven't had success with Euros for a while now. https://www.eliteprospects.com/player/534190/raimonds-vitolins
