Connor and USA Hockey have a tenuous relationship. No NTDP or WJC. One WC appearance and none since starting his pro career despite Winnipeg often hitting the links early. I don't follow MNHS close enough to confirm, but my understanding is the "recruits" are from Duluth, so really no different than what happens in the cities with parents getting an apartment or using a friend's address. Either way, they've wanted to go to UMD for the most part.

The difference is Hermantown puts out high end D1. There are a few D1 players from GF and Fargo that just haven't been blue blood caliber. Locals prop up their program more than ours.
