Good. Lil of his own medicine. How's it feel Bubba? I love this quote.

I think your missing the important point.. And I have possed the question a thousand times, where do other schools get the money? If they can do it so can UND. I am willing to bet there are at least 5 other current AA schools that are no better off financially than UND currently is. Lets cut the bull...UND will be Division I fairly soon. Whether you or I want it to be.

You my friend need to seriously need to take another look around. You are barely worth this post. Talk is cheap and you do a lot of it. You back up nothing of what you speak with facts. You claimed South would win a championship last year cause once again they were "the best" and the '80s" dominance of GF was over, but I came back and proved FACTS that it was indeed not over blah blah blah the dominance is shifting blah blah blah anything to prove that? blah blah blah.....I will predict right now South will win the championship . People who cheer for the Grand Forks teams know how to win and are use to it, but they don't brag about how good their regular season is like certain people and teams. They are also smart enough to know anyone could win in the state tournament. I will once again bring up your favorite Fact: 1995 - Grand Forks 1996 - Grand Forks 1997 - Grand Forks 1998 - Grand Forks 1999 - South 2000 - Grand Forks 2001 - Grand Forks 2002 - Grafton 2003 - Grand Forks 2004 - Grand Forks 2005 - Grand Forks

You never discussed that he may make more money at Mankato.

If you fly or drive a team of 40 or 20 the difference in expenses isn't that great. I don't know why you keep trying to argue the point. A lacross team at UND will not be any more "expensive" than the current baseball team.
-
That's easy UND is now looking at D1.
-
Your real question then should have been why don't you move back down? You can't really dispute that IAA football is part of Division I. It says it right there: IAA.
-
Division IAA is part of Division I.
-
You really don't think football has a chance to win a championship? Like many have said the move will essentially only be giving up one championship sport at UND and that's womens basketball.
-
That parts wrong.
-
The way its worded is that the men could have national championship possibilities still. I do know what you mean though.
-
More action less talk.

Speaking of chip on shoulders, apparently Jess Myers has one. "Despite the etched glass and the marble and the leather everywhere, you still are hard pressed to find folks dying to visit Grand Forks during those months when the prairie winds can chill you to the bone and when reports of

If it was such a no brainer to add hockey at UND, as you claim, Why was it not such a no brainer to add hockey at NDSU at the same time? That is the "dig on NDSU hockey."
-
NDSU had no brains? I guess people from NDSU listened to people like you talk, while UND listened to another group. Thanks PCM, I am glad someone got my point even though it was subtle. My point was that basically what PCM stated. There were people back then that thought UND was stupid to ever try and compete with the huge hockey powers of established programs of Michigan and Minnesota. How could UND ever compete against these sports. "Not being an established program will kill UND as few team will be willing to pay to travel up here when there are closer competitors elsewhere." Hockey would be a huge drain on the athletic budget. Startup costs for hockey are not cheap especially compared to other sports. The money for hockey wasn't available right away. I'm sure in the 1940s they were also worried about money. However some 60 years later we would find out they were HUGELY wrong. I'm glad UND didn't listen to those people.
-
Reread the above, but pretend its the 1940s and replace "lacrosse" and "hockey." Such narrow thinkers.
-
It all makes sense now. That is why they got Irmen and POTulny.

Glad I'm not the only one that was confused with Bisonguy's post. The "city of grand forks" has nothing to loss in any of this Canad Inn deal. Only positives. That's why if they don't want to build a movie theatre...who cares, so what. Let them amend the contract / build / whatever they want, along with the tax breaks. It is also important to remember the arena side of the Alerus makes money (or at least did back a few years ago that I remember) but the convention side that losses it.
-
I love the lacrosse idea too. I would definately go to that. I wouldn't only bet it would be more watched and liked than baseball or golf, but even mens (and maybe womens) basketball. It would fit in right there with hockey. Lets make this a reality!

Sorry 'UND Fan' scoreboard for the betty. I personally think this avenue (Siouxsports.com) would be a perfect place to get the funds raised. It would allow other sioux fans to know the priority of the fans and the adminstrative needs without going to a general fund. People want to know exactly where there money will be going and if not raised they want it back. I think that a center hung scoreboard at the Betty that is similar to Frost Arena should be of high priority. I hate it that SDSU waited til they were "division i" to get the scoreboard. How many good recruits could they have gotten with that scoreboard in d2 ( and won plenty of games)? I think the Sioux should make upgrades now while D2 and build from there. aka....scoreboard, lacrosse, Alerus upgrades (memoral pictures), soccer field upgrades, bubble over memorial stadium, indoor track and field practice arena & weight room, etc, then move to D1 as all of that capital and needs are already addressed.

When does one news report become bigger than another? I think a lot of people care about this story. There hasn't been a thread dedicated to it yet....so here it is. I am sure there are people on this board who have interactions with Mr. Reeves who would like to share their personal experiences, yet don't want to make it "official."
