The FargoDome's new turf is said to be costing in the neighborhood of $3 million, with bids expected to "come in lower". Today's GF Herald estimated the new turf at the Alerus Center to be $4 milliion. And it sounded like that was a bottom number, as bids may be higher. Serious question here... why the huge difference? Is this because of a bidding war?

The story the GF Herald had yesterday as new news (please refer to us as UND or North Dakota) was sent out around December 1 to our conference opponents and their media. Must have sent to other media at that time, too. Apparently the Herald didn't get that memo.

If I remember correctly, people used to say on here back in the day that Dean Blais was a goalie killer. I don't know if any of those people still post here, though.

Really? Some people need to step back from the ledge or just jump in and become a Gopher fan. The same people have been saying these things since Hakstol took over as head coach. The Fighting Sioux coaching staff's recruiting and talent evaluation has been just fine.The coaching staff can't help when top prospects decide to change their minds, and especially can't help or predict injuries. There's a bigger picture involved in recruiting quality student-athletes to UND and it doesn't end within the 494/694 loop.

Really? You're getting all worked up about what you, a BISON fan, read on Siouxsports.com? Maybe you could write the Grand Forks Herald a strongly worded note with your complaints. Can someone tell me what these Bison fans expect when visiting this message board? Another question... do UND fans go on bisonville.com and ask similar questions as the one in the post above mine? Doesn't make a lot of sense for me to visit a forum/message board of a team I don't like. Especially when there's no longer a rivalry, or so I've been told.

Simply changing the name from IAA to FCS hasn't changed the product one iota. There are currently many respected commentators that refer to FCS as IAA. Big deal. Referring to it as such for them is a creature of habit. Doesn't prove a level of intelligence or education whatsoever. And as for Jack Michaels, no one has ever disputed the quality of the product that he delivers. Its the pandering he has to do in his full-time gig that is at issue. Now to get back on topic of the thread title, NDSU will face more competition this week and next in PRACTICE than they will in the game. Practice. Not the game. Practice.

Don't much care. Has to be someone out there that doesn't have pandering to the NDSU faithful as their full-time gig. Then again, it's tough to find the Sioux on the radio where I live anyway. As for SHSU v. NDSU, the Bison faced more competition last week in practice than they did in Saturday's game. With all the hype from Texas, I expect it to be pretty much the same result in the title tilt.

Heard that too. "Someone needs to call in and tell us how the Bison lose this game." Is there not someone within UND's umbrella that can call the football games?

What's funnier still is that there is a yearly bitchfest in fargo about all the coverage UND gets down there compared to 'su. I'm guessing the actual coverage is somewhere in the middle.
