More proof of why politicians need to stay away from the details of the operations of college athletics.

What a move! 3-1 'mack! And of course comes the mandatory penalty against 'mack to try to get the ground squirrels back in it.

But both are solid engineering schools.

WORLD JUNIORS - Toronto/Montreal - DEC 25/JAN 5The Sicatoka replied to AZSIOUX's topic in Men's Hockey I was notorious on my American Legion team for coming into the dugout after the first inning and telling our pitcher he was tossing a no-no (if appropriate).

Gerlach is a 98. With Rowe bailing out Gerlach can't be the replacement. I think we'll be hearing a name for this fall at forward.

WORLD JUNIORS - Toronto/Montreal - DEC 25/JAN 5The Sicatoka replied to AZSIOUX's topic in Men's Hockey My observations on Team USA: Fasching -- he'd go to the corner but never came away from the boards with the puck. Eichel -- he forgot he had teammates; he was trying to win it by himself USA defense -- small, quick, but I saw nobody that I expect to have a 10-year NHL career (there were no "Cam Fowler" types) USA powerplay -- I don't like the changes v. Russia; they should've left Schmaltz and Matthews together on the second unit; if Eichel needed a shooter on the first unit put Larkin there I might be a homer, but guys I'd take from Team USA in order: Larkin, Schmaltz, DeLeo, Matthews. (You can keep Eichel and that goalie.) We're on a SWE v. CAN crash course. PS - Any of you pilot types available to get Nick Schmaltz back to GF in time for a game v. the U18s?

WORLD JUNIORS - Toronto/Montreal - DEC 25/JAN 5The Sicatoka replied to AZSIOUX's topic in Men's Hockey Outdoor ice conditions have been questionable at points in the past (see: LA, or Wrigley Field, heck, see Omaha but that wasn't pro). Stars can get hurt walking out from the tunnel, but why put them in conditions (poor ice) that increase the risk? As far as "buzz", look even at this site: the luster of "winter classic" isn't what it was. I'll say it again: The minute this costs an owner a player you'll see teams staying away from the gimick. PS - Playing outdoors, on an outdoor football or baseball field, differentiates ... how?
