  1. This tournament should be in a western airline hub city (SLC or Denver) or Las Vegas. That is all.
  2. When is signing day?
  3. Jason Notermann and Kevin Spiewak never saw an open net they couldn't miss.
  4. Potential sponsor: Taco John's --> six pack and a pound ...
  5. Except for that "frozen tundra of Lambeau" ... Oxbow can explain.
  6. If only I'd had more than pride and honor on the line.
  7. I don't know Mafia's picks but those were mine. ?
  8. Let me fix this now: Murphy's never going to score a goal. He couldn't hit the broad side of a barn. He'd miss an empty net. Heck he could be in a boat in the middle of Lake Superior, fall out, and not get wet. He could be the last UND guy to touch the puck and CC "own goal" it and the goal would be given to someone else. The guy just can't score goals. (Having said that, expect Murphy to go off for about four or five on the weekend. )
  9. "Venky Jois"? That sounds like something cured with ampicillin, ibuprofen, and plenty of water and rest.
  10. I'm listening, go on.
  11. Watch. Enjoy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SvWwgTEmH-A#t=719 Source: http://www.undsports.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=13500&ATCLID=209861492
  12. You don't throw cross checks to the head, especially when you're charging at the same time. I don't care what level you're playing at. If you have that severe of a problem with the fellow you settle it upright -- NCAA fighting rules be damned.
  13. Guys, Mussman's primary issue was and will always be that he, a former offensive lineman himself, didn't recruit talented linemen. It still doesn't make sense to me that he just didn't understand that all the flashy flankers in the world don't mean dinky-doo if your QB is on his back and their RBs are running over your pancaked front seven.
  14. Sheyenne Grasslands?
  15. Long Beach State is "The Beach". I'm kind of liking "Tundra". It fits the North Dakota image -- Vast. Imposing. Unsurvivable.
  16. You and every defensive coordinator in the Big Sky.
  17. The Jamaican bobsled team made the Olympics; who's to say the Nigerians can't be an ice hockey power.
  18. Are you saying it could be Sharp, Simmons, and whatever they bring in ... except no Simmons? That's a little scary.
  19. No kidding. For a while it was "how small can UND go" at hockey goaltender; that moved to football running back. If we want to recruit 5'6" players can it be for things like libero in women's volleyball instead?
  20. I hope Nevermann isn't needed at RB. Why? 1. It'd mean the other guys are gettin' it done. 2. Maybe he could move to the defensive backfield with James and we could have the Swedish Secondary. If they really nailed somebody could we call it "Stockholm Syndrome"?
  21. From that POV, Red 3, 8, 9, 21, and 33 should be tossed as well as White 2, 6, 15, 18, and 19*. Honestly, everyone on the ice except Red 20, White 5, White goalie, and the stripes, should've been hit with third man. *There's the guy who should get nailed for third man and off the bench.
  22. Here's a link: http://www.uscho.com/2015/01/19/big-ten-announces-suspensions-to-wisconsins-wittchow-minnesotas-lettieri/ Please, explain to me how what Reilly does from 1:00 to 1:02 is not classless. That is a flying cross check (nearly a blind side) that hit very high*. *Was that intended for the shoulder it hit ... or higher.
  23. One classless move triggered the second: - The head shot was classless and deserved to be resolved - The flying cross check, instead of a man-up "Let's go", challenge is the second.* * The video I saw talked up Reilly for "defending his teammate" and how the NHLers will notice and love that. What I saw was a boy's approach to a man's problem, and the NHLers will notice, but won't love, that. Reilly should've skated up, popped his bucket off, dropped his gloves, and asked Wittchow to step up and step in. A flying cross check shows you weren't in control of your emotions and the situation; stepping up shows who's in charge. And honestly, at that point, I expect Wittchow, knowing he'd done wrong, wouldn't have stepped in and Reilly would've looked all the better.
  24. Watch the video and Mike Reilly probably should've been given a five minute cross checking when he ran Wittchow (or maybe some supplemental from the league office). If you're going to go after Wittchow to stand up for your guy, you do it with honor and challenge him to throw down (or scurry away), not with a flying cross-check from (almost) behind.
