NDUS Budget Cuts (changed name to be system-wide)

Correct. To grow, you need space (not land, but buildings) and people to support the growth. There's nothing in the foreseeable State budgets for either of those. -

Burn, baby, burn. -
Wrong. Eleventybillion - two. OK, really ... SOG were 54-6. http://www.rinkwriter.com/ndstatess/ndboys_17_g1.pdf

1-0 GFC. I believe the UND women's hockey coach's son scored.

To watch: Just hit the GF Herald website. They have a link.

So, $13 to get in. Are the "beverage" stands open?
-
Academics took hits "over 10%" but (one small, 5% of Athletics, budget line item in) Athletics took a 40% cut! That is world-class spin. And the local media bought it.
-
No, you're not. Title IX is Federal law. The Feds decide if you're in compliance, not the NCAA.
-
When I look at Jim's projection/what's it take board, teams that need to better than their "to date" winning percentage are in trouble. UND needs to go 0.750 and is 0.533 overall. That's a problem. http://collegehockeyranked.com/forecast/pwrbywins/

As a note related to someone else facing issues due to less money coming from Bismarck: http://www.inforum.com/news/4222883-ndsu-offering-phased-retirements-cutting-student-affairs-administrators -
Kolpack had a different number, about $2.1 million (not the $6.6 cited and referenced above). This just in ... http://www.inforum.com/news/4222883-ndsu-offering-phased-retirements-cutting-student-affairs-administrators

So, ice jam, flood, inundation, debris washed away, to the intake of the civil water supply for Standing Rock ... that they were there to "protect". http://bismarcktribune.com/news/state-and-regional/ice-jams-raise-flooding-concern-while-agencies-move-to-close/article_31caa8df-c5a5-5608-a4b9-b1581a05110c.html

Uh ... you do know that Cass County Sheriff Paul Laney is the back-up site incident commander to the Morton County Sheriff as assigned by the Governor, right?

Pure speculation by me, but logisitics for a women's game have to be just as tough as for a men's game* in a lot of ways. Lots of work for little return. *Security, ushers, guest services, concessions, medical, ice crew, ticket office, ...

I should've bought stock in Orville Reddenbacher and Jiffy-Pop yesterday.

Honestly, that was my one fear with that name.

Uh, ... depends on what type of non-profit they are. A non-profit can make money as long as it defines where its "excess revenues" must go. In REA's case, it's UND Athletics. Heck, Sanford Health is a non-profit. You know because they file an IRS Form 990.

To me the core problem is the NCAA. So what if Wazzamatta U wants to play DI mens lacrosse and nothing else. So. What. Obviously Wazzamatta would have to do things inside their university to meet Title IX, but why should any school have to play 14 or 16 sports to just play 1 or 2 that might make fiscal sense.

Kids are too much trouble. Just this; that is all.
