  1. Back in the day of Big Ten Football it was Michigan and Ohio State, Schembechler and Hayes, and the other eight. “History doesn’t repeat itself but it often rhymes,” as Mark Twain is often claimed to have said.
  2. Random musings ... using KRACH ratings: Miami (60) @ DU (474): KRACH says Miami should win 1 in 9 games with DU. DU is 4-0 already this season. Maybe Miami gets one? Or not. CC (66) @ UND (403): Per KRACH, CC should win 1 in 7, and UND is 4-0 already. A little scary ... Omaha (199) @ WMU (424): Omaha should win 1 in 3, and they've only played twice, a split at the 'zoo. I see three games. UMD (277) @ SCSU (352): UMD should win 45% of head to head games, and they each have a win and a SOW. I sure hope this third game is on television.
  3. If you're speaking of any team in maroon and gold I get nauseous, no matter what they're doing.
  4. Uneven season series (only two games, and in REA) so the head-to-head tiebreaker does not apply. Next tiebreaker is conference regulation wins and DU has 17 and UND has 16, but both have 53 point so title is shared. GP PTS Pt% RW RL OW OL 1 Denver 24 53 .736 17 6 1 North Dakota 24 53 .736 16 5 2 1 All the tiebreaker means is DU gets the tournament top seed.
  5. Motion has a second. All those in favor say 'aye'. Aye.
  6. Strategically, things played out well: Won the league regular season title (x3) Driscoll didn't get run twice on the weekend (just once, ) Gaber and Frisch got a full rest weekend
  7. The PWR top 16 this morning ... CCHA B1G NCHC B1G NCHC NCHC NCHC ECAC B1G CCHA NCHC HEA HEA HEA B1G HEA No HEA teams in the top 11 of PWR this morning ...
  8. UND did win the regular season title. It is awarded on league points, and 53 can't be beaten. (Tiebreakers are only for post-season seeding.) For reference that 1997 WCHA regular season banner in REA was shared.
  9. We've never seen him in a Sioux uniform.
  10. Urban legend ... or not.
  11. I thought Leroy's Menswear in Seattle closed years ago ... I'm pretty sure @Oxbow6 and @Blackheart bought out the inventory when closure was announced.
  12. He was standin', caught in the crossfire ...
  13. Blais never seemed to get "thee best" recruit off any team, but he always seemed to get the second best from every team. Those second best guys always seemed to have something to prove on the ice.
  14. Everyone bases brackets off "present PWR". Show some marbles ... predict what PWR will look like after the conference tournaments, then seed your brackets. Otherwise you're just trying to follow the NCAA's formulaic with data that is ... wrong. <-- PWR will change between now and the day they announce the field.
  15. They seemed to bring the "dance party mix" Friday against DU. From what I saw everyone had a "dance partner" more than once in that game.
  16. I suspect we'll see Senden and Hain go. They're the last 2 of 9. Ford and Driscoll time out. At this point, Sanderson should probably stay and get stronger, and I never expected to see that in October. His game is NHL ready, but I'm not sure his body is given the games he's missed. Somebody call Tyson Jost and hand Jake Sanderson the phone. That said, I expect he'll go. That's needing 3F, 1D, 1G.
  17. You win a conference tournament you get that conference's automatic bid to the NCAAs ... key word being automatic.
  18. We've scratched our KRACH ahead of DU ... https://www.collegehockeynews.com/ratings/krach/
  19. CHN's "probability of making NCAA" matrix: https://www.collegehockeynews.com/ratings/probabilityMatrix.php See that red "10%" by Duluth? There's a 10% chance Duluth could end the year with an under 0.500 winning percentage. They'd have PWR numbers and a high rating in KRACH, but be tournament ineligible because of overall record being under 0.500!
  20. Up four points. In the final four games (UND@UNO; DU H/H CC) need a UND win or DU loss for an outright. If UND gains two points, or DU loses two points, it could be a tie.
  21. Don't get greedy. Just imagine if Weatherby hadn't bailed in August and Connor Ford was our #2 center behind him.
  22. Indeed. "Hell yeah." "Somehow, that is correct."
  23. Pictures or it never happened.
  24. I bet they do bring Benoit in in a low-pressure situation. He'd be the 7/8 D and have time to learn and grow.
  25. We harp on officials a lot. Today I'll give credit where is due. Zebra13 was in perfect position for the Driscoll behind the back save. He saw it the whole way, shot, off glass, onto back, covered, immediately waved no-goal. I'm sure all video did for him is confirm that the glove wasn't behind the crossbar, otherwise, full marks on that play.
