  1. Given they've posted externally for a RB coach, but haven't posted externally for a DC (so far) I'd say that's a "tell" as to an internal hire.
  2. Beulah is too big. MSP::GFK --> factor of 50 GFK::Beulah --> factor of 25 GFK::Tioga or Cando --> factor of 50 What this is exposing is why UND needs to keep getting top end prairie province kids: GFK feels comfortable and 'big' to them for the most part. And WPG should always be a focus because of simple proximity.
  3. Yes. The 2016 UND defense? I'm not sure which D from the recent UND@DU (either team) games would break into those six.
  4. Upcoming HS schedule (boys): https://ndhsaanow.com/schedules/icehockey-boys?page=6
  5. DL getting home shouldn't be an issue based on present projected storm track. Davies could be a whole other matter. But as always with ND weather, that may be different in five minutes.
  6. You being correct (and thinking more I believe you are) may make the point all the more. Look at the names out there in 2016 and the (I'll be nice and say) mediocre skill level. Other than the CBS line, who would've played for DU last weekend?
  7. No, but the odds of getting a kid from a 5xxxx zip code are better than getting one from a 0xxxx or 1xxxx zip code. https://www.unitedstateszipcodes.org/images/zip-codes/zip-codes.png
  8. I considered the line Gersich was on as the second. (I might be flipping years around in my memory.)
  9. I thought that in-season "tournament" was allowed to play by post-season OT rules.
  10. Even if 28 staying helps keep 15? 15 staying is key for the defense.
  11. This is part of the change to a speed game that has happened at DU and WMU. The closest thing we've had to a scoring third line was a 2016 "heavy" line that happened to be quick (not fast) and have a little scoring touch.
  12. And 5 of the 6 are from MA, NY, or NJ. (The other is IL.)
  13. Carson Albrecht turns 25 in May. I do wonder if he's going to stay.
  14. Probably not, but they all seem to have to receive a puck, dust it a couple times, then look up and decide where to go with it. Teams like DU and WMU are making three touch passes in the same time because they know where they are going with the puck before it ever gets to them.
  15. If I'm cold I can add a layer (or even light my back hair on fire) to stay warm. There are only so many layers one can take off to cool off. And there are fewer adventurous creatures looking to kill you around here, no scorpions or rattlesnakes. I would've said coyotes also, but that's a toss-up lately.
  16. We're running 16F right now. Two run out of eligibility (10, 19). Two more are seniors but have a Covid year available to them (13, 28). And then there are the wonders: - does 17 sign - does 5 portal out - do any others look at the portal? I'd say Emerson and Perron are the obvious two to bring in, and then it becomes what else is needed to stay at 15F. (I don't see another year at 16F.)
  17. Based on DOB the oldest five are: Komzak, Benoit, Jubenvill, Wiebe, Livanavage (then Ausmus, Strathmann, and McInnis). It won't be Ausmus or McInnis coming in and Elite Prospects projects Jubenvill as a fall 2024. It's like they're set for five ... and ready for the unthinkable (needing six, meaning bring Jubenvill in 2023).
  18. I see the incoming class looking like 5D, 3F, and 2G and the fall roster as 15F/8D/3 (or 4*) G. *That would be up to Hellsten.
  19. I see Cheese here. He bought into that role from the start. I'd tell 32 it's his choice but two are coming in either way (be they portal or recruit). That's why I say 3 or 4 G roster in the fall (based on 32's decision).
  20. I see more of his brothers and parents than E lately.
  21. There are Bison fans (one haunts here time to time) advocating they return to a 3-4. With the right personnel it is a good scheme to create pressure from; however, that personnel must include a NG that can eat a G and C.
  22. I knew it was going to be a long weekend 13 seconds into Friday's game. In those 13 seconds I saw: - an interference committed against UND13 - a contact to the head committed against UND13 - a hold by UND10 Only the last was called. I knew.
  23. Austin Flyger?
  24. I could see an incoming group of 5D/3F/2G and ending up with a 15F/8D/3G or 4G roster.
