  1. ... and the rest of us get caught in the concussion.
  2. ... or as a rumor to (as PA of KFAN would say) "sell hope".
  3. Some scoffed at "online education". Others went in. And yet others are all in: Arizona, Purdue, and now Arkansas. https://www.insidehighered.com/news/2023/01/26/report-u-arkansas-system-may-buy-university-phoenix
  4. Tunnel and Lucier are hacks. Ross 'Mad Dog' Madison https://www.sporcle.com/games/Hop_On_Pop/charlestown-chiefs-vs-opponents/results
  5. You might get me to buy a ticket to that.
  6. He hasn't ripped a top 6 spot away from someone else.
  7. They hired the SIU DC last night.
  8. That is the most self-contradicting thing I believe you've ever written, because the last thing I think of when I think "Randall Herbst" is spotlight personality.
  9. Do Tim 'Dr. Hook' McCracken, Ogie Ogilthorpe, or Clarence 'Screaming Buffalo' Swamptown have eligibility left?
  10. Ask UM-Duluth about Sandelin. Ask SDSU about Stig. If you believe you have made the right choice in the long run you ride out the short term pain.
  11. However, it did work for them DII -> FCS.
  12. What else is in the Legislature? https://www.insidehighered.com/news/2023/01/26/bill-north-dakota-presidents-could-fire-tenured-faculty
  13. The Sens looked like UND in their own zone when ... NHL All-Star Brock Nelson ... scored.
  14. But how will that play in the tall building on the eastern shore of the Missouri in Burleigh County? The Legislature is pushing hard for workforce across the State. Seeing faculty positions cut, and declining enrollment, while prioritizing football will not sit well with many western legislators. They will start asking hard questions about why are those donors not funding the university to get the workforce those same donors (eastern business) are clamoring for. It would only give the Legislature more reason to be skeptical of higher ed funding and that hurts all of NDUS.
  15. So the AAC is going to reach over the MAC, C-USA, the MWC, the SBC, into FCS, to add a football only. Looking at the AAC footprint I'd say they have a hole: Georgia. I'd more expect the AAC to go after an Atlanta area school. Why? Travel, demographics.
  16. Guesses? Monty, 13, 6, and Cheese.
  17. Kraken primary and secondary logos are still simple complexity, and excellent.
  18. Follow above link, slide 11, sub-bullet 3. That may slow down some athletics aspirations.
  19. And thus the pain begins at NDSU. (They should've dealt with it back in 2016 like UND did.) NDSU president Cook sent this out to faculty and students earlier today: When it says "link" it's this: https://www.ndsu.edu/fileadmin/president/images/President_Cook/draft_ideas_NDSU_Format-1.25.23_Final__003_.pdf
  20. I still don't understand what happened here. 25 was "cornering" himself as a no-option. 15 had half a sheet behind him open for escape. Did no one (25, 34, bench) yell to 15 whatever word they use for "go the other way".
  21. Mike Boschee played for UND. Jeff Boschee was the younger brother and a former ND Mr BB. Both are Valley City natives. I'd give the Boschee factor at least 1/3 of that crowd.
  22. My coaches taught: If there's one attacker "below" you and D partner, and your D partner has them, the net front is your responsibility, and even more so if the play behind the net is going toward your corner* (which it was if you were 25). Why? The rest of play is moving in toward you from behind (trailers). Notice the direction Howard showed up: behind where 25 should've been. And notice a second 'dog behind Howard; mentioning him ... The forward play? We were taught if the center is in zone the forwards stay no deeper than the bottom of the circles, preferably covering up direct passes to the points. The center goes below the goal line if he's in zone. Notice 9: the D on his side was uncovered and had crept down and was ten feet behind Howard. (EDIT: It wasn't the D, it was a forward, Spicer.) 3 lost his man and allowed a reverse in direction; 25 left the front; 27 after the reverse went to the puck leaving an open slot as 25 just left; 9 was just out of position (and with more experience may have recognized the uncovered slot). Each of 25, 27, or 9 barely twitched a head to see what was coming in behind them; all were locked onto the hypnotic puck. *The exception to that was if your center was in the slot and called you to retrieve. Then you could leave the front.
  23. @SWSiouxMNcompletes fact check in two minutes.
  24. Our spectacular in-zone defensive play Saturday night made #5 on NCHC's Plays of the Week ... for Isaac Howard. But now I have the video on who was out there: 3, 25, 27, and 9 all below the goal line*, and 17 doesn't enter the frame until long after the damage is done. *To my eye, only 3 and 27 have reason to be there.
  25. I believe they want both venues to have the same dimensions so it would be a concern if the X was primary venue.
