I’d say portal RHD is a priority. One is mandatory minimum; two would be better. @stoneySIOUX has my top two names plus a wildcard that if I were in charge I would target.

Given last season, I’d try to make the books work to bring in 3D and 2G from the portal plus the pipeline 5D and G. Yes that’s 9D and 4G and a 28 roster but if there are any misses it’s needed. And how a28 slot roster would work on the fiscals would be new and interesting.

Until we have solutions at goalie and defense this team is not able to be evaluated.

We used to go to "three step hockey*" with a three goal lead. We got so good at it we went to it with a two goal lead, and then a one goal lead. But these days opponents don't quit, skills are better, and you have to be perfect playing "three step" with a one goal lead. I'd rather leave the offense active and add to a lead than have to try to restart the offense after the lead is given up. *Three step hockey: 1. Get it over the defensive blue by any means, skate, pass, glass, but get it out. 2. Get it over the red by skate or pass. 3. Dump it deep; make them come 200 feet. Watch the last eight minutes of UNDvQU in 2016 for a clinic.

There's this new thing I've heard about ... somethin' like ... portal. Roughly half of portal entrants do not find new "homes". There have to be a couple missed gems in that fraction.
