Anyone have a stamp?
I need to mail the
"Congratulations on being #1 in an ends-in-"r"-month!"
card back to Don Lucia and company,
along with a "Virg Foss Award" self-nomination form.
It's called "re-gift-ing!"
Let me sum this thread up:
- Potulny and Irmen are good players
- Minnesota is playing well right now, in months that end in "r" (Sioux fans have seen that and know what can come of it.)
- The important months don't end in "r"
- Winning in ends-in-"r" months is the fast track to a Virg Foss Award
Now play nice with each other.
No, Dr. Phil was up being interviewed during Friday's first intermission.
Oh, you mean the TV "Dr. Phil", not Dr. Phil Harmeson, UND's NCAA faculty athletics representative.
A reason to fill the place:
10613
8441
10584
9212
11665
8301
8072
Total: 66888
Average: 9555
If UND draws 13112 on the 8th home date that'll be an average of 10000 for the season. The last 10000+ average for the season was 2001.
It is a six-team, no-reseeding bracket.
- Six plays three with the winner playing two.
- Five plays four with the winner playing one.
You'd expect three and four to win so you'd have four playing one and three playing two.
However, five and six won and thus is the answer to your question.
Here's your though-provoker of the day:
UMD's "Bubba"
SCSU's Hedberg
UNO's Behrns
Is there another league where half the opponents in the league can trace their head coaches back to one school in the league?
GARY - There's only one 13500 number in 2001 and it doesn't say estimated. It's for NDSU (first year in The AL). The rest of the year looks like accurate count numbers. I'm not sure what the question is.
Someone estimated 13500, in a brand new stadium in its first season hosting the eventual National Champion, with a listed capacity of 13500? Really?
The only 13500 I see in the season (2001) you linked to is for NDSU and there's no "estimated" for that one. No other number is 13500 for that year. The 2003 NDSU number isn't an estimate either (12-something). Seems like real counts to me.
Straight from the Bison media guide:
Four of those numbers in 1989 and the fifth in 1988.
What was going on at NDSU and in Fargo about that time?
I'd guess they had a guy who really couldn't estimate crowd size doing the estimating.
But wasn't that about the time the lobbying for building FargoDome was going on too? FargoDome opened in 1992.
You did? I don't recall that. Are you sure you don't have me confused with someone else?
As far as capacities, Dacotah Field had a capacity of 10000 up to 1972. It was expanded to 13000 at that point. Forgive me for that oversight. (The older number was stuck in my head.)
And all that after taking tony's side and asking why even bring up NDSU.
