Of course there's humor in the other side of that coin as well. From the In-Forum link above:

If (when?) UND goes DI it's almost a given that UN-Omaha is going to the MIAA. Would the NCC be able to lure Michigan Tech and Northern Michigan from the GLIAC? Travel from those two to SCSU, MSU-Mankato, UM-Duluth, Augustana, and USD wouldn't be too bad. (It's the UND and UNO trips that get really long for the Upper Peninsula schools.) Then again, if any other NCC school is making any type of gesture at DI (SCSU? USD?) would Tech or Northern want to leave the stability of the GLIAC? It's going to get more confusing before clearer.

Speaking about carrying NDSU broadcasts:
-
If memory serves, wasn't Sioux Football on KFYR and Bison Football (under agreement with WDAY) on KXMR last season? If CCND now has UMary Football, and because the Herald story on UND's contract specifically says UND Football is on KFYR, and because negotiations between CCND and NDSU broke off (down?), does that leave NDSU Bison Football as the "odd-man out" on those stations?

Back to the issue at hand: Why is it that Potts is the bad guy when 10 of 11 NDUS university presidents don't seem to have any (explosively public) issues with him?
-
If you are taking an on-line or correspondence course through UND many of those courses/programs require that exams be given by a proctor known to UND. Thus, given UND's existing offices to support UND's Medical School at the VA Hospital in north Fargo, that is where many folks are able to find a UND proctor for exams. Believe it or not, the issue wasn't the courses or the office space as much as a sign that said, "UND Fargo."

'dagies': You should get those folks to an audiologist. My guess is they're offended because they're hearing "back oriface."

First, apparently, there was fire where there was smoke (Holmberg story about a month ago). Next, the ND SBoHE needs to make a decision. Is what they oversee: - 11 separate and unique campuses each led locally by a president, or - a system of 11 universities led by a common chancellor. Call it "weak chancellor" or "strong chancellor". Call it "everyone on their own" or "a statewide system". Which is it?

http://www2.indystar.com/NCAA_financial_reports/ A very good database thanks to the Indianapolis newspaper.

I assume, by this being privately funded, that in the off chance that there are fiscal damages assigned against the NCAA the funds would go only to UND. I say this because if it would be publicly funded the funds would have to go to the State's general fund.

Kupchella: Self-righteous NCAA deserves lawsuit
The Sicatoka replied to star2city's topic in UND Nickname
You ask a good question. The NCAA's "catalyst for social change" monger has already hinted at some potential targets. They are covered in this long-winded thread on another board. If you want to save time, just read posts #1 and #8 in that thread. They'll cause you to look at the rest. -
Be careful what you wish for.

"Belfour leaves it behind the net for Kidd, out to Johnson, over to Hrkac, to Joyce ... " was rather pleasant also.

Kupchella: Self-righteous NCAA deserves lawsuit
The Sicatoka replied to star2city's topic in UND Nickname
Although hating the NCAA has become as fashionable and vogue as hating Bill Gates' products (and this would just pile on that theme), I still believe the answer is .... Dirty Chuck. "Go ahead, make his day." -
I thought to be "hip" you'd have to call him "C-Gen" (ala J-Lo).
-
One out of two ain't bad. It's "Genoway."
-
Welcome to "Web Posting 101: It's all in how you spin it!" It's not: "He only scored 7 points." It is: "He was only 8 points behind his team's leading scorer!" Then you tag on: "For comparison, Toews finished nine points behind Stafford, his team's leading scorer." That's the end of today's lecture. There will be a quiz.
-
If Genoway is going to play D and Foyt is considered a forward, we only have 14 forwards on the roster right now. We could use a forward, as has been speculated here. Roster: Forwards (14): Fabian, Porter, Foyt, Kaip, Oshie, Toews, Miller, Kozek, Martens, Duncan, Watkins, VandeVelde, Forney, Zajac Defense (8): Radke, Bina, Finley, Chorney, Jones, Lee, Alexander, Genoway Goaltenders (4, .... for now): Parise, Lammy, Walski, Grieco

I think it would catch the fancy of enough UND hockey fans needing a spring hockey-like fix. You'd also probably get a few football fans because of the contact sport. I doubt anyone would disagree with you. Where the disagreement would most likely be is growth potential and timeline.

At today's construction prices, and in MSP, would that even build a field comparable to Newman Field in Fargo for Goldie's boys? And again, northern tier, and no roof.
-
I can't see UND spending $2.5 million for a baseball stadium (unless the city were to chip in that much as well so a stadium of decent size and facility, and potential minor league use, could be built). Same goes for $1.5 million of a softball field which would get NCAA, and no level higher, usage. Those facilities, at those prices, would still be below average in DI (and probably DII). Those same $4 million would start up a lax program, add lax locker rooms to a potential indoor training facility, and probably leave money for suite improvements at The Al (benefitting both lax and football).

Interesting that a requirement to carry womens hockey was added to the mix.

I can't believe no one caught the easy one: Softball is not an official ND High School Activities Association sport. It's a club sport sponsored by various HS in the state. (West Fargo is the nine-time defending state club champion.)
