Not sure where this goes, but recently at a Fargo car wash: I had on my leather Fighting Sioux jacket. A fellow nearby was giving the evil eye to my jacket. I looked at this fellow and asked, "May I help you?" He told me rather gruffly while continuing to glare at my jacket, "You're in Fargo." (I'm guessing NDSU fan in retrospect. ) Before I could respond, a third person whom I'd never seen before says, "He's in North Dakota, and that's one sharp looking jacket." I was left smirking and speechless. (Keep your smarmy comments to yourselves PCM and Rick.) Better? This third person, who defended my jacket, starts walking away to retreive his vehicle and I read the back of his jacket: some program at United Tribes Technical College.

I guess Stanford is screwed then.

My frustration here is quite simple: Why is two college students caught in a bar a 'news' story with any legs? Is it because of who they are? Is it because their coach didn't meet media expectations? Is it because their coach didn't meet public expectations? That's two of those guys. Now, to the third, ... If someone here should be taking a lot of heat, and isn't, it's Robbie Bina. Ya don't screw around with official vehicles and officers doing their jobs. If anything I'm not hearing/reading enough heat toward Robbie. (Sorry Robbie, it's true.)

To point: If Hak would've come out right away and said, "I'm on it. Team rules will be enforced. That is all I have to say" he'd have taken away McFeely's blasting powder. Hak has now, albeit too late. As far as Jones, why isn't there an uproar towards Jones over which team rules were violated? If he's sitting guys, why?

What are the team rules in this case? What's the punishment? Was it delivered? We don't know. We can assume one thing, or another, that fits our unique agendas, or state what we'd do. Only Hak, and his assistants, and his team, and his boss, and probably some team parents, knows if he's followed through in accordance with team rules. Mike McFeely is upset that he doesn't know. (shrug)

OK, I probably am missing your point. I'll accept that. Just clear one thing up for me: What standard are they holding Hak to, and are they choosing to live to that standard also?

OK, let's change it up then to fit: Has anyone with ForumComm ever violated the law? What were the ForumComm sanctions, if any? Were those printed in the paper, and I mean the corporate, not legal system, sanctions? If Hak is supposed to write a press release on team sanctions, shouldn't Bill Marcil do the same in a similar situation (given the McFeely standard)? The public, legalites side, sure, put it in print. But the team/corporate sanctions, are they my business?

Anchorage and NDSU were going to use the same designer and vendor.

With this the NCAA shows again that although it talks a great "all about student-athletes" game it's really all about one and only one thing: The Benjamins.

They'd better leave the "allowed in-state" rule in place. If not, UND's recent moves to bring sports camps to Spirit Lake Reservation (90 miles) at Devils Lake, ND, would be a violation of NCAA rules. Then again, Spirit Lake is a "separate nation". Does the rule cover "international camps".

Let's play "Logic 101": The NCAA policy is against American Indian related monikers, logos, and mascots. How would changing the moniker, but not the logo(!), solve anything? Even that small logical process thought, alone, proves that this "rumor" was hokum. Plus, they haven't come to me yet for my "Cavalry" logo design.
