Really? So which are more or less likely? (Don't add or subtract from the words. Go on just what is says, nothing more.) "UND will get into BSC" "UND will get into Mid-Con" "UND will get into Great West FB Conference" "UND will be in DI indy pergatory until 2011" Enjoy your Cheerios, but don't eat too fast or you may cause a heart attack.

New NDUS Chancellor Named-former NDSU Professor
The Sicatoka replied to IowaBison's topic in Community
You got the first three letters of your post right. A former NDSU faculty member, who lives in Fargo, who Paulson pushed for, isn't going to help the perceptions in the skeptical quarters on this topic. We're all going to have wonderful time come the Legislative session ... not. -
Far-fetched? Yes. But is there evidence that the NCAA has looked and is looking? Yes. Far-fetched? A little less. Extrapolating from there? Yes, that can get far-fetched quickly. Then again, all any of us are doing is speculating on snippets of information. Claiming by anyone, supporting or rejecting a theory, to be more than speculating is in itself far-fetched. Quite simple, objectively looking at the case in point: "UND will get into BSC" <--- speculation "UND will get into Mid-Con" <--- speculation "UND will get into Great West FB Conference" <--- speculation "UND will be in DI indy pergatory until 2011" <--- speculation

Former NDSU faculty picked for the position .... interesting ....
-
What are you saying? Of course he's irreplaceable. Look at history: Hockey collapsed after Gino left. And it collapsed again after Blaiser left. And football collapsed after RT left.
-
Ever think someone tells you things as a ruse to figure out where the "info" goes next and thus who might be posting it on SiouxSports.com? See ya later.

I want guys of good character who can play the game and want an education. If they've got that not much else matters.
-
From UND's DI Report: Your numbers are close, but not quite right on. Secondly, your assumption is the same that others seem to fall in to: The right time for NDSU to move may not be the right time for UND to move. The right budget for NDSU may not be the right budget for UND.
-
Sit down and take a deep breath Diggler. I know this may come as a shock, but there may be other candidates besides you.
-
The search for a replacement has already started. And not surprisingly for any move UND makes:
-
Archie is a forward. He does not pass the "Rick and dagies" criteria. Next.
-
That only works to keep college presidents in their current positions (or so some would have us believe). Yes, a defenseman would be nice, but don't forget there is one on the staff right now. I suspect that hockey resumes are printing all around the US and Canada as we speak.
-
I heard it on TV: "It's all about The O."
-
The story specifically mentions Kober (Scott Koberinski) as a possible replacement. Considering school opens in less than a month, Kober would seem to have an inside track.
-
I honestly figure that Chorney, Jones, Lee, Finley, and Radke are "gimmes" for the line-up every night this year. That would leave (junior) Bina, (freshman) Genoway), and (sophomore) Alexander for the sixth spot in the line-up. Alexander would probably be spending a lot of time in a suit and tie.
-
I thought it was only supposed to be 15 that first year. Show-off. Chorney is 6 feet tall and now 200 pounds? Aren't those dimensions in the ratio of the size of the average fire hydrant? I'd never want to be hit by one of those either.
-
I thought the official NDUS policy was all interaction between schools and the Legislature was to be channelled through the NDUS's point-man: the chancellor. (Look it up.)
-
And here we agree. The west coast schools don't need a big footprint to cover a big population/media base. Most would rather stay in the Pacific time zone (except for tournaments and select non-conference games). It's better travel and weather. As soon as SacSt, PortSt, or UBC for that matter could find a conference that fits that I'm sure they'd bolt.

The link 'star2city' provided: http://www.scoutme.ca/index.cfm?go=content...mp;site=athlete It's signed "- The Editors". It seems to me that editors of a legitimate site wouldn't make things like that up.

Yet there is, If it just ain't gonna happen, why would the NCAA even look?

Split Oshie and Toews. Make the other team decide who to put their checking line out against: Toews with Duncan and (Kozek? VandeVelde?) Oshie with Porter and (Watkins? Forney?) Young Zajac and the two guys not on the first two lines come out next. Then smile and send out Kaip with Fabian and Hunter Bishop.
-
It's so bad they had to point it out twice.
-
How do we trust anything this board does from now on? Petros, et al, got this square on the nose: Sunshine, soapy water, and a scrub brush I say.
-
Firstly, I'd say NDSU has a better shot at beating Minnesota than beating Ball State. Why? Minnesota may look past them; Ball State can't take anyone, especially a DI-AA, for granted if they have any bigger plan for this season, and the MAC seems pretty open this year. I'm not going to hold my breath waiting for that.

Reseating how many existing football and hockey season ticket holders? Seating how many new hockey season ticket holders? In an interview when he was AD, Roger Thomas said that many schools he contacted about how to proceed with a reseating plan told him he was nuts for thinking they could do two arenas in one season. And starting a new sports program from scratch? That must be an administrative walk-in-the-park too. The athletics administrative staff had those priorities. It's there in history. It's anyone's choice whether to see it or not.
