And that's what I have to say about that.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you St. Cloud State mathematics!

So The Forum made it all up.

NDSU's RPI can't hurt them in presenting themselves. From what I've heard, SCSU is serious in this look at DI that they've undertaken. Methinks this will be a most interesting spring for many.

I'd guess people have tried to tie things around his neck before, but he got away. -
Could the Vikings stop the Gopher running game?

Why not look back in this game thread? (sigh) Here's a fish. http://siouxsports.com/forums/index.php?s=...ndpost&p=138115

Recruiting? Yes, but money and fundraising moreso would be my expectation.
-
Another question is: With Tim Miles suddenly getting noticed how long before a larger player in DI comes along and sees him and goes --->
-
What I normally hear about recruiting is that guys are more interested in the "DI" label and that young ladies are more interested in being able to win and succeed. I believe NDSU's mens success and UND's 22-0 ladies team are probably bearing this out in that I'd guess (note: guess) UND may have gotten one or two of NDSU's mens guys if they were still a DII and NDSU may have gotten one or two of UND's ladies if NDSU hadn't been on DI transition probation and tourney ineligible.

Link you want, link you get. http://www.in-forum.com/articles/index.cfm...§ion=Sports According to a source's source, you'd all be shocked who Maturi called after Taylor and Bohl declined. I know I was.
-
One more thought: I wonder how - Craig Bohl - Amy Ruley feel right about now. Seems like Tim Miles might be sliding into the top-dog, media darling, coaching role at NDSU.

I saw Saturday's third period coming at about the 15:00 mark of Friday's third period. (And no, I have no mistakes in that sentence.) And I blame two people for it. - Troy Jutting - Scott Zelkin Jutting's teams always seem to play that chippy style, and it goes overboard when they get down. You could see things going on Friday that were going to carry over. Then Saturday Zelkin starts to referee the scoreboard and not the game. When it was even he was calling it both ways. At 2-0 he saw that MSU-M was out of it and started letting them hold onto sticks and grab onto players, but he'd call ticky-tacky crap on UND. Case Study: At ~00:20 left in the second Chris Porter has the puck at center and is across the red line and looking to dump it deep. He gets hauled down by 2 (3?) Mavericks. Zelkin? Nothing. And where else but the puck should the referee be looking. But at the 00:02 second point in the period, when the puck has just been shot around behind the UND net into an open corner, where no possession much less scoring chance is possible, somehow Scott Zelkin sees Matt Smaby grab onto and slow down a Maverick who is for some unknown reason heading full-bore toward Jordy Parise and the Sioux net. (Don't say "centering pass." No one had the puck.) Porter with puck hauled down: nothing; Smaby slowing a guy on a run for Jordy when there is no scoring opportunity much less puck possession: a deuce for Matt. At times it seems that the league has a "down goals" factor in calling penalties: - if you are down one, they only call every other penalty that you commit on you - if you are down two, they only call every third penalty that you commit on you - down three, is every fourth and so on. The league needs to look at how Mankato plays the game. They've been doing this "style" since the late 1990s. It's not good hockey to watch and it's dangerous (see horsecollaring Sparky). The league also needs to (and not the referees, McLeod and Shepherd) stop refereeing the scoreboard. There is no "scoreboard factor" that allows you to overlook infractions by teams down by a number of goals.

Which gives the better home field advantage? Alerus Center. Evidence? UND is 35-5 (0.875) overall and 8-0 post-season. For comparison: NDSU is 64-14 at Fargodome (0.821) overall and 0-0 in post-season.

I'll give Gene Taylor credit for something this morning. He was right about: - big win for them - it's not going to make scheduling easier

Congrats to the Bison. Kohl Center is not an easy place to play and win in any sport. Here's the stat of the game that should really embarrass Bucky: The Badger hockey team shot a better percentage v. CC (9 goals on 33 shots --> 27%) last week than Bucky's MBB team did against NDSU (22% from the floor). I'm far from a hoops guy, but 22% ain't gonna get it done against anyone. And 'jimdahl' missed one: On the day the last 3 undefeated go down: Duke, Pitt, and Florida.

Careful, you might be accused of assuming and not knowing the whole story. If you're ever contacted about a job because someone is interested in you, LOOK! If nothing else, it refreshes your resume and your skills at interviewing and gives you a chance to see into how other folks do business. It's just good advice.

So Mary needs a new moniker? Hmmmm...... Mary Christmas? Naw, religous. May offend the secular (even though Mary is a Catholic school). Mary Lambs? As in "had a"? Mary Widows?

Show me the team with fans that don't complain about officiating and I'll show you a team without fans.

The other way would be call the rulebook. Give the majors when warranted. Another would be to put the second official up in a booth, with replay, and wire him to the on-ice official. Another way would be wide-angle video of every game and full tape reviews. If the referee misses something, well, sorry, instead of a 2 or a 5 minute penalty in the game you'll be sitting out some number of games. This is blasphemy here, I know, but the NHL has surpassed the NCAA this season for watch-ability. The speed is up and the clutching and obstruction is gone.

Dear Sioux mens hockey team, All of your hard work and effort Friday night will mean nothing unless you put out an even bigger effort, and win again, tonight. You need to learn to show up for both games in a weekend. It must start here.
