  1. I heard a bunch are trying to make the trip up for the exhibition.
  2. We have some small/slight dudes (Gaber, Blake, OMac, Perron, James). Let's hope the not-so small/slight dudes (Johannes, Kunz, Komzak, Pehrson) understand the "unwritten" part of their responsibilities. I call it the "paint rule": My guy is covered in green paint; I see any of that on you I'm taking all the paint off you.
  3. Michael Kay being available to ESPN to do a national broadcast for a wild card series is something wonderous also. Berrios was a victim of "the analytics" is what I heard.
  4. All teams, all victories, start in The Room.
  5. Based on online rosters of last and this season, Ethan Frisch (5'11") would be the second shortest defenseman this season (Livanavage, 5'10").
  6. I see a late entry (after Aug 21). As Benevolent Dictator and Herr Kommissar for Life of this thread I will accept the late entry, however an automatic ten point penalty is applied to the entry's score. Others may submit late entries under the same penalty; however, all entries are closed as soon as the chart comes out from @UNDMhockey Twit-X on Friday the 13th.
  7. Your nudge of me elsewhere got me to nudge @jimdahl. Credit Jim, our beloved and hallowed administrator, for manually resetting some things for you.
  8. Having a former USAF General and well respected nice guy with strong academic ties (USAFA) in 300 Twamley, in a "Grand Sky" world, is totally right guy right time right place. And I'm hearing he was all in on Chaves "Alston Awards" plan from the start.
  9. Hang with me while I flesh out this notion ... The top two lines (and probably PP units) are like the "diamond" (1-2-3-4) in a Blue Angels or USAF Thunderbirds show. Everyone comes to see the speed, skill, and precision of the "diamond". But what about 5 and 6, the solos? The solos are guys who can make their own noise, show their skills independently ... or while you're so worried about the diamond leaving the main show surface they sneak up behind you and boom they blow the toupee off @Oxbow6 head. Dylan James is Angel/T-bird 5 or 6. He can fly in a group but as he showed late last season don't lose sight of him or ... he sneaks up behind you and boom. You need a seventh forward like James (can fly solo and still wow you) in a "top two lines" world. (Wes Dorey was that guy in 2000.) However, I want us in a 9-3 (top three lines) style, so yeah, get the pieces together for 9-3.
  10. Why'd you redact; why not the full t-shirt quote: I'M BACK BIOTCHES! (front) THAT'S FOR YOU G-G (on back)
  11. The "three-legged" stool plus the synergy pays off. The legs: EERC, Med School, Aerospace The synergy: Engineering What do you get? Aero Eng'g; Biomed Eng'g; Energy and Enviro Eng'g
  12. We have: - last year's UA(F) captain - last year's Michigan alternate captain - a former AHA second team all conf (2021-22) - a former CCHA All-Rookie Teamer and that's just on defense. We also have: - Miami's top goalie since 2020-21 - one of Omaha's top two centers last year - then Johannes I'd say those seven, plus the twelve returnees, yeah, the freshmen have folks to learn from. They just need to find the guy they can work with to be the mentor.
  13. Agree ... Hey @GeauxSioux, did you get that password reset ... oh, ... nevermind.
  14. Getting picked in scoring position down two ... "professional" ...
  15. Nice ... but just the opponent?
  16. Ask me in August 2027 (like it says the effective date for existing members is). My guess? There are some low-budget southern schools that will struggle to do $6M in grants.
  17. Eliminate attendance requirements at FBS schools (effective immediately). <- Works in UND's favor; Alerus capacity no longer an issue. Increase the application fee for transitioning from FCS to FBS from $5,000 to $5 million (effective immediately). <- call @gfhockey; he'll cover it. Straight cash homie! Require all FBS programs to provide 90% of the total number of allowable scholarships over a two-year rolling period across 16 sports, including football. <- UND doing that today. FBS schools will also be required to fund 210 scholarships each year, amounting to no less than $6 million annually (effective August 2027). <- Adding 22 scholarships for FBS (63 to 85) puts UND over 210; awarding $6M now, before the Alston Awards program. For schools that begin transitioning to FBS in 2024-25 or later, requirements must be met by the conclusion of the transition process.
  18. In fairness, ice had just been invented. Dirt came long as a new product a couple years later.
