  1. I complained about it the following ways: - The elbow never landed and elbowing (SECTION 12. A player shall not use the elbow in such a manner as to foul an opponent) doesn't include an "intent" or "missed" clause like slashing does (SECTION 47. a. A player shall not slash an opponent with the stick. Slashing includes all cases where a slashing gesture is made regardless of whether contact occurs), so it's a bad call. - The hitting from behind by Marvin on Blood (SECTION 23. a. A player shall not push, charge, cross-check or body check an opponent from behind in open ice*) wasn't called. * Having a copy of the 2008-10 NCAA Ice Hockey Rule Book is a handy thing.
  2. I didn't say "injuries". I said lost remainders of seasons due to illegal hits. That is a significant distinction. Names and causes please, as I provided in UND's case. Thank you. And please remember to stay this side of Jan 1, 2005, in your data.
  3. I intentionally did *not* include those two because they failed to meet the criteria I had set: Trupp: No penalty was called, no suspension given, after the knee-to-knee contact. Genoway: His season did not end in that case.
  4. Dear fans of other WCHA teams, Please list for me the season ending injuries to your team caused by illegal (illegal: if a penalty was called or sanction given later) hits during games by opponents since Jan 1, 2005. Please note that is a very specific criteria so please stick to it. No "missed games" or "in practice" or "clean hits" need apply. For UND: Chay Genoway: concussion via CFB <-- this assumes his season is over Derrick LaPoint: double fracture of lower leg via slew foot Derrick LaPoint: concussion via hit from behind Robbie Bina: broken neck via hit from behind If you, oh wise and knowing fans of other squads, can put up a list that devastating of season enders since Jan 1, 2005, caused by illegal hits I'll listen to your words about UND being the bad guys. If not, take a look at who's really being hit with devastating injuries due to illegal play. Signed, Patiently awaiting your lists
  5. Anyone else notice that Sunday's Fargo Forum (ink and pulp version) re-ran the story on Fridays' game, and not the Saturday story.
  6. Tigger free; game is extra. (Now some of you are hungry for Mexican food. )
  7. I thought Ryan Hale was working with Fargo North.
  8. It's his opinion. Good for him. The difference between him and me? I enjoy hearing his opinion (as misguided as I may believe it to be). More speech and free speech is good speech. He wants to stifle the opinion of the Spirit Lake Nation. He wants to limit speech. Oh the irony of a newspaper columnist looking to limit speech.
  9. Williston tallies two ENGs and wins 4-1. No GF Red River at the tournament. Fargo South out of contention by 5 pm Thursday. Mercy.
  10. See Olympic Hockey thread.
  11. No, history says he's somewhat untouchable for whatever reasons. http://boardsroom.blogspot.com/
  12. He's taken to coming out a little too close to Eidsness' left post for my liking. I wonder if he's ever heard of Steve Smith's "issue" in that Calgary/Edmonton series a while back. ">" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="425" height="344"> That Lanny McDonald, could he wear a stylin' bucket and 'stache or what.
  13. 4-0 US.
  14. M. Lamoureux 1 Sweden 0 now USA 2 Sweden 0
  15. Bruce McLeod has suspended you for one game for thinking that.
  16. A fifteen team list that doesn't include Texas or Notre Dame? I'm not sure how that would work. Without those two they have to be reaching down from the current Big Ten pretty far (or cherry-picking pretty specifically). Welcome to Division I:
  17. Honestly, with no Mario, I thought they might try to completely "reflavor" that line by sitting Bruno and going: Cichy Zajac Toews I think Darcy would have an easier time adjusting to the more skill/finesse game of those two than Cichy will have trying to play the rugged style of Zajac/Bruno. Eh, whatever, I don't get the big paycheck.
  18. Southeastern ND needs "last summer" (much cooler than average) to come this spring: Long, slow, lazy melt and run-off.
  19. About the way the WCHA is run: I hear the CCHA is down to 11 teams. I wonder if they'd be interested in a school that: - is consistently second in average attendance in the nation - has a national television deal with Fox College Sports - has seven banners in the rafters. We'd probably have fewer dirty hit injuries to defensemen (Bina, LaPoint twice, Genoway).
  20. {see signature}
  21. Lead the way Dan. Change your handle to NDSU Dan. And all references to your favorite school, you must now always use NDSU, not the B-word. Lead the way Dan.
  22. Based on the report I heard last week, either someone will be canonized by the Catholic Church, or we won't be seeing Chay this year. (For those of you slow on the uptake, it's going to take a miracle.)
  23. International (noun): Anything outside of "Imperial Cass" County. :silly:
  24. From the link, Scenario 7 played out, (forget Notre Dame, think Big East instead): Big East gets raided, Big East raids A10, A10 raids Horizon, Horizon raids Summit. Quoting the scenario: I don't believe IPFW. I agree with one of the commenters when they said: Conference moves will be about markets. And remember, these are fans not worried about a moniker and conference membership pondering these things.
  25. Did someone say "Summit affecting scenarios" a while back? http://news.collegesportsinfo.com/2009/12/...conference.html Be sure to look at the comments also. (I love it when folks do homework for me. )
