  1. One more for the "reasons" list .... 11. We'd all get cool nicknames. But there's a problem. This indictment tends to contradict ....
  2. Wasn't that post clear? The player can only participate in 20% of team's scheduled games. None of the games the player participates in can be in the second half of the schedule (for example, after game 6 of a 12 game schedule). Ryan Hale blew up a shoulder in Game 8 and there were 40+ games planned on the schedule (counting league tournament): automatic extra eligibility season granted. The Brandon Strouth blew up a knee in game 2 of an 11 game schedule and it was automatic. Michael Forney last participated in Game 17 (Dec 29, 2007) v. UNH. There are 35 games (exhibitions don't count) on the schedule. Gee, he hasn't played in any games in the second half so far. Interesting.
  3. No, no, NO. He's cutting a deal with the Obama campaign to be on the ticket as VP. "Barack and Brock" --> Obama/Trotter '08 (to the tune of the old Dr. Pepper jungle) Obama/Trotter, Obama/Trotter, Obama/Trotter, Obama/Trotter, wouldn't you like Obama/Trotter too?
  4. I do. I was planning on going on a "Blizzard Bender" after work Friday. Me, the TV, my friends "Jack, Jim, and Johnny", and Miami and Michigan followed by Minnesota and Denver. (I'd watch one to finish live while DVR-ing the other). With no Minne/DU what am I gonna do?
  5. Eh, seems there's precedent regarding Valpo and Montana Tech. No worries.
  6. Less than 20% of games; none can be in the second half of the season schedule.
  7. Are you telling me that Friday's UM game won't be on FSN North (the all Goldie, all the time, channel)?
  8. So it was you who assigned me "there/their/they're" and "it's/its" and "assure/ensure/insure" duties. Next thing you know I'll get stuck with "accept/except", "than/then", "to/too/two", and "your/you're". You'd have to quit your day job to keep up with all of those.
  9. All of that "8", "8", "8" and suddenly I'm hungry .... (think about it) ....
  10. Good job on that "do not sign prior to 7:00 a.m. (local time)" thing.
  11. True, but also true is that there are first-rounders taken in years after his draft year who are now in "the show".
  12. UND dealing with this quickly and openly gives them a toe-hold to work from to start asking tough questions of the league office. See, we've proven we'll admit to, accept, and deal with our not so pleasant issues. Will they?
  13. My thoughts exactly. Which scenario would you rather be in? "Uncle Sicatoka, what's that mean?" "He thinks Don Adam is #1." or "Uncle Sicatoka what's **** mean?"
  14. 55754 45085 No, wait, that's not Dinkytown, that's Funkytown.
  15. You're so funny. Ha. Ha. Nope I write 'em. And I've had to execute consequences unfortunately also. Trust me: It's no fun for either side (and that's only speaking from the better side of the transaction).
  16. What's a letter of reprimand supposed to say? - You did this. - Why it was improper. - You need to learn from it. - Don't let it happen again, or ... - There will be further consequences. At least that's what each one I've written says. Hey, he made a mistake. He owned up to it. I'm more interested now, not in the mistake, but what he does after it. In some ways he now is in a unique position to improve some things at UND and in the WCHA. Yeah, sounds crazy doesn't it. Wait, we could be surprised. I truly never expect to see something of this nature again from Dave Hakstol. He seemed to get away from himself Saturday. Various external forces (some spontaneous, some staged) were acting on him and the emotions we knew were in there somewhere showed up, albeit in a less than "made for prime time" form. I'm sure Dave isn't happy with himself for losing his cool and effectively letting Adam, and McLeod and Shepherd, win that battle. That battle is lost, que sera sera; Dave Hakstol looks to win wars.
  17. Another case in point: It's caucus day, not election day: You can talk politics on radio. Yet, KFGO's "Jack and Sandy" are not promo-ing Obama, Hillary, John, or Mitt, or even Ron, but Dave "The Finger" Hakstol as the topic for Tuesday's show. It just tells me there's nothing important in the Fargo sports scene for them to cover or that they'll get better reader/viewer/listener-ship if they cover UND. PS - I'm glad Hak stepped up and admitted an error. I'm glad UND dealt with this. It takes the teeth out of anything anyone can say about it. They're left yapping about how UND people may make mistakes, but they also deal with them and learn from them. Not happy to be here; but happy UND admin and coaches show how to handle unfortunate situations. Prattle on about that Sandy Buttweiller.
  18. So is that supposed to make it better or worse? It was undoubtedly Gopher fans celebrating. So it's better that rather than destroying their home (campus) they're out destroying and pilaging the property of local private citizens?
  19. Oh, that must just be some kind of coincidence .... or not.
  20. Here are your choices: - Do nothing and let the WCHA pick and choose; and as a bonus the opponents get tell everyone how your university has no standards - Do something and disarm the WCHA and opponents; but don't forget, it has to be strong enough to keep them disarmed. One game wouldn't be enough to satisfy the league office, thus two. But by doing this, UND now gets to walk into future league meetings and say that at least we face up to and deal with our issues. That could be very useful down the road. But the clear answer remains: It's Buning's fault. (Someone should've told Hak to hold a pen if he was going to imitate Buning at Mariucci.)
  21. If you were him and had read this board, and the Herald, wouldn't you take a pause to consider what you'd be getting in to?
  22. That is accurate. I stand corrected. There were ramifications, albeit the improper ones.
  23. Did Finley get caught on tape throwing punches after the hard check? Peltier did. But with no ramifications.
  24. I keep telling you all that "The Mafia" would be a great moniker.
  25. Never truer words typed: Boogard wouldn't go after a "Brian Gionta". If Peltier had an "issue" he should have sought out "resolution" with another "problem solver". Malone was clearly available for a "remediation session". Boogard can explain that code.
