What's even funnier to me about this? Minnesota is not the "treasured M" in that conference. That belongs to Red's boys in Ann Arbor. Here are your {insert year here} final BTHC standings: Michigan Minnesota/Wisconsin/Michigan State <- rotate order on yearly basis Ohio State Penn State

Just in case keep the sack cloth and ashes handy.
-
He's right in that statement: A bunch of folks at the NCAA are trying to tell Spirit Lake their vote means nothing.

ND Governor Signed the Fighting Sioux bill today

In the future could you add some dramatic music in there, something like " .... bah-buh-BAAAHHHH! ..." in there? It would add to the effect. -
So you admit sultan's post is fact?

Russell deserves a better fate. His team won their exhibition opener, and then went 3-0-2 (beating NMU, LSS, and MSUM, tied NMU and MSUM). But from Oct 16 to that freaky Friday (Feb 18) in Denver the number under the "W" did not change. I guess no coach would survive "zero for four months".

UND uses their planes to transport opposers to Bismarck to testify

I'm saying I sure hope they can point to other times they've flown to Bismarck to lobby at the Legislature or there will be more and more questions. -

I sure hope UND can point to precedent on this. -
He probably lost a bet.

Nah. I'd rather see folks complain (as a minority opinion in a minority demographic) directly to the NCAA. They'll listen, right? They've listened to other minorities of minorities in the past. Or is there something someone of northern European heritage might be missing relative to say a Native American.
-
If your ancestry is northern European please commence flooding the NCAA with protests against the University of Idaho Vandals. Q: What's a Vandal? A: "The Vandals were an Germanic tribe ... "

Hey, look who the pilot is. To all of you who say "if only a North Dakota guy" I say Bruce Smith flew Shaft to Bismarck and when Smith was lobbying for the job Kelley got he said he'd change the name. So there's your "from North Dakota" guy. -
We haven't always agreed. Here we do.

Is there a scenario where UN-Omaha faces the ultimate punishment (no NCAA bid) after getting swept by The Beav?

I don't think Lucia is gone (the U is buying out Brewster), but his assistants should be concerned. The stat that is mindboggling to me (from http://undhockey.areavoices.com/ ): Nobody on next year
-
I knew it wasn't Title IX good down there, but I didn't know it was that bad. Yes, that really is a lawsuit waiting to happen. Somewhat unrelated, but what a day to announce dumping football and wrestling to focus on hockey: The day the Beavers gnawed down the Mavs. Ouch.
-
Trev Alberts - Nebraska football guy, ... Nebraska-Lincoln football guy that is. Then again, maybe he's a books/money guy and can see that they're making money off hockey and his football team is an unsustainable loss leader.
-
Actually, you went 8-19-0 (with a shoot-out loss) this year. You brought it up.

Allow me to translate: "Hoe. Lee. Crap. What next." {facepalm}

Give me the remote, {bleep}.

So is this the beginning of the beginning, the middle of the beginning or the end of the beginning? Are we sure it's not the middle of the middle? It might just be the end of the middle, or is it sooner than that, like the beginning of the middle? I don't think we're far enough along that this is the end of the end or even the middle of the end. Could it be the beginning of the end?

What an interesting comment by the Governor: He's had Drew Wrigley looking into this issue. If the AG has to recuse himself, what an interesting litigator for the State of ND Mr. Wrigley, or is that Lt. Gov. Wrigley, would make: - current Lieutenant Governor of ND - prior US Attorney for District of ND -- the man who put away Alphonso Rodriguez (the killer of UND student Drew Sjodin) - University of North Dakota graduate

I'm pretty sure the NCAA's attorneys are filling out brackets, and not fretting over this, right now.

Contrary to what some may tell you, athletic "grants-in-aid" (also known as scholarships) are a one year arrangement. If you have four years on athletic scholarship you have four one-year agreements, not one four-year agreement.

But I hear it wasn't a $20 per se, but a couple of $5s and a torn $10.
