That's why I don't want to schedule non con games against Valpo and Drake. Those teams are a joke even if some think they make excellent "tune up" games. Yes, the Valley is going downhill fast.

Playing a scrimmage game against ourselves is probably a better tune up game than playing a bad Pioneer Conference team. There is nothing to be gained playing garbage like this. Iron sharpens iron, as they used to say. We need quality opponents to get tuned up. It's gotten to the point that some of the Valley teams are bottom of the barrel quality. We don't need non con Murray State teams.

I just saw this, we scheduled Valpo for '27. I'm not excited at all to be playing them again and playing a non scholly is almost embarrassing. I know, we need wins to make the playoffs but holy cow surely we can get someone better than Valpo. How much did NDSU get paid from Gate City to put on those little 2 x 2 patches on the uni's? I can't comprehend that anyone is even going to see those things let alone run out and open an account there.

The first half of the season won't tell us much except at Nebraska. The first half is an incredibly easy schedule. The real test comes down the stretch. We have to make sure the gas tank is still full.

I agree on LIU. We're always looking for the easy win but these guys are just horrible. Chaves needs to at least schedule respectable teams. I'm not sure what to think about Idaho State. They have never been very good but at least they aren't Long Island University and not on probation.

With NDSU giving out 22 more scholarships shouldn't that be forcing them to settle for some lesser quality kids in order to fill the roster? They seem to be getting all quality boys this time around which is most unfortunate.
