AZSIOUX Posted February 22, 2008 Posted February 22, 2008 Why do tBulldogs show up at #10 in the PWR on SS.com...but #16 in the PWR used in Bracketology?? I'm hoping the one on this site is the correct one... not sure what you looked at but they are tied for 8th on uscho pwr and a 3 seed in bracketology so you are mistaken http://www.uscho.com/rankings/pwr.php West Regional: 13 Notre Dame vs. 4 Colorado College 10 Minn.-Duluth vs. 5 Miami same as ss one http://siouxsports.com/hockey/rankings/pwr/ Quote

gopherz Posted February 23, 2008 Posted February 23, 2008 you guys can play the role of holy cross this year sorry, to easy...nice win tonight you are tied for 13th actually and cc and unh pass us up but of course we didnt play tonight I give full credit for that win to my ridiculous predictions of either 7 or 8 goal victories both nights, or my amazing presence in the student section after buying a last second ticket off some scrub, haha. The Holy Cross thing, totally uncalled for, but that's why we love you. All the games except maybe SCSU went exactly how the Gophers would have liked I would say. Quote
Stromer Posted February 23, 2008 Posted February 23, 2008 All the games except maybe SCSU went exactly how the Gophers would have liked I would say. But it is good for us so it's all good. Quote
gopherz Posted February 23, 2008 Posted February 23, 2008 Well if we aren't going to suck enough to get to play @ UND, we might as well get home ice Quote
HeidiSioux62 Posted February 23, 2008 Posted February 23, 2008 Tech is tied for 22nd (last of the 22 ties). Need them to win to stay a TUC. Quote
AZSIOUX Posted February 23, 2008 Posted February 23, 2008 Tech is tied for 22nd (last of the 22 ties). Need them to win to stay a TUC. yeah i had a felling they would slip out by the end having them and uaa as the only wcha teams out Quote
HeidiSioux62 Posted February 23, 2008 Posted February 23, 2008 I know that a loss to Bemidj hurts us in the pairwise, but does a win (or two) help us move out of a tie with Miami? Quote

brianvf Posted February 24, 2008 Posted February 24, 2008 The WCHA schools are once again a cluster for the NCAA's. Here is the current PWR situation: 1 Mich 24 2 UNH 23 3 CC 22 4 UND 21 5 Miami 20 6 DU 19 7 MSU 16 8 BC 16 9 MSU-M 16 10 SCSU 15 11 Clark 14 12 Prince 12 13 UMD 11 14 ND 10 ------------- 15 Wisc 10 16 MN 10 So, UND is currently back as a #1 seed...and if the season ended tonight there would be 6 WCHA schools in the NCAA's. But...according to some posters on USCHO, when Princeton (#12) plays Clarkson, they will reach the "10 games against TUC" mark, which will lose them a bunch of comparisons regardless of if they win or lose. That would change the PWR to this: 1 Mich 24 2 UNH 23 3 CC 22 4 UND 21 5 Miami 20 6 DU 19 7 MSU 16 8 BC 16 9 MSU-M 16 10 SCSU 14 11 Wisc 12 12 Clark 12 13 UMD 12 14 Minn 11 ------------- 15 ND 10 16 Prince 9 Yes. You are seeing that correctly. That is 8 (!!!) WCHA schools in the NCAA's, barring any tournament upsets. Wow. Alot can, and will, change, but that is just crazy at this point in the season. Personally, I would rather see UW and UMN both miss the NCAA's, but that's just me. Quote
RedFrog Posted February 24, 2008 Posted February 24, 2008 Personally, I would rather see UW and UMN both miss the NCAA's, but that's just me. Ditto!! Quote
Gopherguy33 Posted February 24, 2008 Posted February 24, 2008 So you are scared of us Its amazing that a team like Princeton can have that large of an effect on that many teams pairwise number. Very interesting 4 weeks of hockey coming up! I feel sorry for the bastards that don't get college hockey, I am a big college hoops guy and the weeks up to selection sunday don't hold a candle to NCAA hockey! Quote
