Siouxdonyms
Puck goes into the snow. I don't see any players trudging through the snow to look for the pucks either! That was always a downer to the game. Of course, you always had the guy who stayed on the ice who tried to direct everyone exactly where it went into the snowbank! farce poobah
The kind of game where you don't want to go more than a few minutes without a shift. A whole new meaning to "cold legs".

Yeah, the difference between this and true pond hockey is that your shift breaks were when you stayed back to play defense while someone else made the rush up the ice. You never took a break off the ice until it was time to go into the warming house.

It will be interesting to see how these teams are affected by this over the next couple weeks.

Made you just want to go home until your legs were loose again.
Siouxdonyms
It appears to have gotten darker there. They say it's sleeting now, turning to snow.

FlyinSioux
Darrin Pang says he's wearing Stafford's skates. Is Drew hurt or a healthy scratch? Hurt, Concussion. This is the 3rd game he's missed I believe.

dagies
I'm watching intermitantly. I'm not big on the outdoor games but with the elements this one is pretty cool. I do wonder if a better game for this would be the all-star game vs. a regular season game. I'd also like to see a Canadian team and a US team in this game. Just seems right for some reason. I kind of like the Penguins uni's.
Siouxdonyms
I kind of like the Penguins uni's. You would!!! I do agree that it's harsh to put 2 points on the line for the winner of this game. Love the game, but it's still an important two points.

siouxfan123
I think the real winners are the owners being able to sell 73,000 tickets to a regular season hockey game, although the long term effects of the game have yet to be realized. Siouxdonyms
The downfall to this game is that all the players from both teams can't go out and drink beers to rehydrate their bodies!!! That was always my favorite part during college, after we played pick-up games in EGF.
Goon
The people on Televison are acting like its cold its 32 degrees in Buffalo and with the win chill it is only 22 degrees. Yikes, its 20 degrees warmer in Buffalo with the wind chill.
The Sicatoka
The teams are wearing "throw back" uniforms. P'burgh's have a little GVSU feel to them (light blue and black). Buffalo's not wearing the Buffa-slug but the sabres. And if you want to play hockey in a football stadium you need a retractable roof .... I remember the days when not everyone in this region had an indoor rink and this is how hockey was played. Ah the good old days .... Why all the ice issues I wonder. sioux rube
Just what the NHL wanted a shootout. Despite the ice delays this has been a hell of a game.
siouxfan123
Not cold enough? It is right at freezing. But I also think I heard them say they had a cooling system below the ice as well, I am guessing the snow makes it sloppy more then anything.
