Surprised there aren't more people here, lot quieter crowd tonight. Twice/three times the crowd for a normal Northeastern game. NE came out flying, everyone is excited to play UND, even more when they are #1. They are playing 100% every shift, we're having some penalty trouble this period. Phil has made some big saves.... we keep giving NE chances, it's only going to be a matter of time. They call it tighter in this league, will be a lot of PP situations... the team that wins those battles will win the game. Philosophy on 2 ref system in college - we should try to emulate the NHL game in college, the players will adjust. If the refs are consistant the players figure out quick what they can and cannot do. In the WCHA the refs are all over the board and it's frusturating. We just need the refs to be consistant so that the players know what to expect. We looked awesome against MSU, then we look sloppy, can't pass, can't break out, can't win a draw. BC is a good team, so I will credit them with taking us off our game, but there is no excuse for playing this way against Northeastern. We are clearly off our game. These teams are doing something that they've seen on tape. We need to make short, crisp passes. Play simple hockey. Anyone have any ideas on the ice conditions? They keep saying its warm in beantown, and it looked like we were falling down a lot! Shots on goal are misleading. We missed the net about a half dozen times with pretty good looks.
