HockeyMom Posted December 2, 2006 Posted December 2, 2006 The sign is real......it's the blurb about the Gophers losing to Holy Cross that was added with PhotoShop or another program like it. They must have covered "Land of Lincoln" up. < Quote

yekcoh Posted December 3, 2006 Author Posted December 3, 2006 What city is that in? I was trying to think what city it is in. I don' know. I got it in an email from a friend in Grand Forks. I don't even know who the Photoshop artist is. Quote
dallassiouxfan Posted December 3, 2006 Posted December 3, 2006 Minnesota lost to Holy Cross? I had no idea. Quote
siouxguyinstpaul Posted December 3, 2006 Posted December 3, 2006 What city is that in? I was trying to think what city it is in. Isn't it SB I29 at Fargo? I think that one of the GF exits is mile marker 132 and Fargo is about 75 miles south of there. Also, Fargo is the about the only town that could have 3 exits at 1 mile marker. So that would make the WHOLE sign location touched up as there would not be a "Welcome" sign there of course. Quote

KEH Posted December 3, 2006 Posted December 3, 2006 right you are when you get into the 200s on I 29 you would be in Pembina County (Cavalier is exit 203). Quote
Sioux27 Posted December 3, 2006 Posted December 3, 2006 I can't say exactly where the sign is but I am thinking the whole thing was redone with photshop including the ND logo. If its on I-29 the closest town would be McArther (10 miles from Canada) - Exit 208 If its on I-94 the closest town would be Dawson (50 miles west of Jamestown - Exit 208 I can't imagine either interstate would have a welcome to ND inside of the state inself. It might not necessarily be on an interstate either. Great sign though. Quote
siouxguyinstpaul Posted December 3, 2006 Posted December 3, 2006 probably somewhere near Omaha Ne. Quote
Goon Posted December 4, 2006 Posted December 4, 2006 right you are when you get into the 200s on I 29 you would be in Pembina County (Cavalier is exit 203). I think your right because in Fargo from to Hankinson its about 140 miles, from Bismarch its somewhere in the to the other end of the state its about what 340 - 350 miles so maybe it just made up. Siouxmama Posted December 4, 2006 Posted December 4, 2006 I don't think it's ND at all. I'm pretty sure thats the same sign I've seen edited in other ways. Quote
andtheHomeoftheSIOUX!! Posted December 4, 2006 Posted December 4, 2006 It is not a true sign. Exit numbers are never listed with out an arrow, what that exit is for, or etc. below it. I found the sign, or possibly another fake, on accident using google image search. Who ever made the spoof just edited in the welcome sign and etc. Quote
andtheHomeoftheSIOUX!! Posted December 4, 2006 Posted December 4, 2006 I also found out where the sign is from. It is from Denver. My cousin lives off 6th Ave. and that 6th Ave. is also US 6. This is the website the picture is from is http://www.mesalek.com/ Aurora (where the site's webmaster is from) is a suburb of Denver. Quote
andtheHomeoftheSIOUX!! Posted December 4, 2006 Posted December 4, 2006 people really think this is real?? Darn right. I just checked the exit number in the atlas, 6th Ave/US 6 is exit 209 (I-25) in Denver. Of course the "Welcome to ND" is a fake. Quote

andtheHomeoftheSIOUX!! Posted December 4, 2006 Posted December 4, 2006 Which sign do you guys believe not to be real? I am pretty sure I am right on the one from Denver. Thanks. Quote
