star2city
In his blog, Mike McFeely rated the popularity of sports teams in Fargo-Moorhead.. His answers were: Here goes: 1. Minnesota Vikings: 2. Minnesota Vikings: See No.1. 3. Minnesota Vikings: Ditto. 4. Minnesota Twins: 5. North Dakota State: 6. High schools: 7. University of North Dakota: 8. University of Minnesota: 9. Concordia football: 10. Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks: Considering fan passion and numbers, what would be the ratings in GF ? Although I live far from ND, here is my guess: 1. UND hockey 2. Minnesota Vikings 3. UND football 4. H. S. Hockey 5. Minnesota Twins 6. UND women's basketball 7. H. S. football 8. Minnesota Wild 9. Minnesota Timberwolves 10. UND Men's basketball 11. H..S. basketball 12. UND women's hockey 13. G.B Packers 14. Chicago Cubs 15. NDSU football
Smoggy
As much as I hate them, the GB Packers should be placed higher.
star2city
Curious about other ND cities, too. For instance, here's my SWAG at Bismarck fan allegiance's/interests. 1. Vikings 2. H. S. Football 3. H. S. Basketball 4. Twins 5. H. S. Hockey 6. Mary Football 7. UND hockey 8. H.S. Wrestling 9. Mary basketball 10. (tie) UND football, NDSU football, Denver Broncos P.S. Really don't have a feel for how deep fan allegiance is to the U of Mary.

NDSU football I think that I would put UND football over the Vikings, it seems like I know a lot of people who dont like the Vikings. The only way the Twins are that high is if they're having a good year. Also, I would drop women's hockey to 33rd, right behind sled-dog racing. Also I think the Wild are a lot lower on the list, I know exactly zero people who are big time Wild fans.

I'd say hs football and hoops probably switch especially if you factor in the Mandan girls and the Dakota Wizards move in at 5 behind the Twins. Bismarck really supports its minor league teams. There Indoor football teams have usually drawn pretty well.
bezzer007
Sioux Fan at the Minnesota Twins Game. Anybody else see the Sioux shirt standing up going into mid - 6th commercial on tonights game vs. Detroit. They're everywhere, they're everywhere! I think Minot has gotten used to getting teams like the new CBA teams and being disappointed, so i don't think people are getting too excited. BigGreyAnt41
I was talking to my son on the phone when he spotted the Sioux gear in the crowd. I saw a guy outside the dome on Friday (9/8) with a jersey on, and said "go sioux" then went to my seat and ended up sitting about 5 seats away from him. Really don't have a feel for how deep fan allegiance is to the U of Mary. Not that it matters, but here's Bismarck/Mandan with a few adjustments. The 5-10 range are debatable...depending on where you hang out. Wizards and Bobcats draw pretty well. I wish there was more interest in the big U's out east.
