I believe that Drew is playing with pain, I told my buddy mark that UND should rest him tonight so he is ready for the Frozen Four. We are going to need him. Opps, I am getting haead of myself.

If that's true, I agree. We are gonna need him in Milwaukee.

Damn our guys are the BEST. They go out and give their all even when it hurts.

No but I did see Drew limp off the ice, slightly bend over and that made my heart stutter!! He was back as strong as ever soon after.

Sorry, I don't have a link, but there was a blurb in the Fargo Forum this morning talking about Stafford's injury. He wears a knee brace similar to what Brady Murray wore. He said that he still feels it. So, it's obvious to me that Stafford is playing injured. I'm not good at prognostication (just look at my Pick'Em picks), but I definitely think that Drew isn't at 100% (though he's playing like it) and there is a chance that he could bow out sometime before the end of the season due to it. This injury is worse than it appears. But, don't take my word for it.

Sicatoka- What do I think about your question? If I were Holy Cross, I'd come out roaring and playing the best game I know how to play, but at the same time have no expectations whatsoever. No expectations = No pressure. Holy Cross' main two strengths are experience (very junior and senior laden team) and character. They've already reached farther than anyone thought they could make. Oh, they're not going to roll over, but I doubt you'll see the level of disappointment on their faces that we saw on the Gopher faces if they do fall to the Sioux. If I were Coach Pearl, I'd coach for the upset and preach going out and having fun. Keep it light and relaxed.

I think I just saw MafiaMan on TV.

EDIT: I think it was him

http://siouxsports.com/forums/index.php?showuser=45

Look at his profile. Whoever I saw on TV looks a lot like the guy on the right of the picture in his profile. He posted another pic, which I can't find right now, a couple days ago, that's why I recognized him so quickly.

About two seconds after I thought I was on TV, my cell phone rings and it's my former roommate from UND days calling me from Detroit..."Hey Scott...I swear, I think I just saw you on TV." :D

My fifteen minutes of fame isn't up yet. Be sure to watch tonite as we play "DEAL OR NO DEAL."

Anyone happen to TIVO or DVR last night's game? I forgot to set my recorder before I left Mpls/St Paul.

What a great night!

The Sioux fans were really cheering for Holy Cross and it was loud. Then Minny scored, and they had a lot of fans in that building. I was kind of dissappointed that more Sioux fans didn't pick up tickets. But they lost and world can keep spinning.

Michigan did have chances, but Parise is playing so well positionally. I know one shot deflected and went off his helmet. Goaltending was the difference in both games last night.

Funny moment of the night: Goldy was harrassing the Michigan fans. One old guy got ticked off and was telling him to ge the F out of there. So the ushers escorted Goldy away. :D

UND band playing the beer song, which is nice, but the Michigan is crisp, good sounding. If we beat Michigan, can we take their band to the Frozen Four? Or maybe get Tech's at least?

Why do you have such an axe to grind with the band? Was your experience in it that horrible? Get over it.

Michigan has a marching band of around two hundred if not closer to two fifty. We have like 80 members. They also bring all brass for their allotted 25. We don't. Last night both U of M bands were in our old band section. The mikes were hot, because when I was in the bathroom you could here them coming through the speakers. Not sure if UND was miked.

Yes Michigan's band was excellent, but lay off our band. Our band played very well last night, and if you'd have heard them at the Xcel, they were outstanding.

Yeah, I did have an axe to grind with the band when I was in it, but that's not why I said what I said. There's something unbelievable about a band that is really tight like MIchigan's band was. I know it wasn't too flattering to our band (even if we have the cowbell dude). They have improved quite a bit over the last few years, I can't argue that. Oh well, I'll let it rest.

The one spot that has me nervous with our team is our break out. During the Final Five I couldn't believe how good we looked at it. Last night Michigan was keeping all three forechecker practically at the face off dots with a D still at the blue line. This did cause problems for our D. We coughed up the puck a few times and Michigan got very good scoring opportunities to score. Something to work on as I'm sure other teams will do this.

LOL...I was hoping someone would notice! :D

Yes, I saw you twice. You seemed to know when the camera would be on.

I think it was Sodak Sioux Fan who told me that 3 Sioux fans got on tv during the gopher game. 2 guys on the end in Sioux jerseys and the guy in the middle with his I Am Not Hostile And Abusive t-shirt on. I'm glad that got on TV for a nice viewing. I had worn my t-shirt under my jersey to the Final Five hoping to get camera time so I could make my own statement but forgot the first 2 days and got no camera time on Saturday.

OK, my thoughts...

Way to take a national power to the wood shed. Holy Cross seriously looked better than Michigan. UND is playing with talent and passion and needs to take care of business tonight.

What a great home ice advantage. It did get quiet from time to time, but overall the fans were good. I particularly loved how the Sioux fans jumped onto some of the music played by the Michigan and Minnesota's bands.

TJ Oshie is better than Kessel. The debate has ended. It's over, deal with it. The fifth goal was vintage Oshie. Toews will be the #1 pick. He's just 17 that's amazing. The ralph should play that classic song "She was just 17" when he scores.

Lee and Chorney both played well. I was worried when Chorney got hurt and went to the locker room, but he appears OK now. Smaby had some crushing hits as usual. Both teams were hitting, but the Sioux were clearly hitting more. Jones took penalties, but really played well. One of his penalties was stupid, but the others looked good. When the Sioux left the ice Finley skated by Duncan, that look funny. Duncan was like mini-me.

I think something is in Zajac's head. He needs to take the shot when he has it. Like he did on the fifth goal. He passed up alot of good shots.

Stafford looked close to 100%. Nice to see that. 7 shorties, WOW. Stafford, Toews, Sparky, and Zajac were great, but tend to get a little too cute from time to time.

And finally, what a game by Radke. I thought this was his best game as a Sioux by far. On both ends of the ice. He created the first goal and layed out a few ugly helmet guys. Just ask Michigan's #26.

Go Sioux Go....

Great effort last night as seen from the greater Milwaukee area. Looking forward to welcoming you all here for the Frozen 4. SIOUX have to be as intense tonight. Would it be too classless to have a sign that said "Sorry Goopher fans, No 3rd place game this weekend"? GO SIOUX!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Honestly, I get sick of hearing people rip on the band too. They put a lot of time and effort into what they do for one measly credit, just to have people like you put them down. Lay off. If Sioux fans supported the band more, we could have a fun, cohesive atmosphere like Wisconsin or Michigan does. Isn't that part of what makes college hockey stand apart from professional hockey?

Yeah, I admit that most of my dislike comes from the attitudes of fellow bandmates and Brooks at the time I was with the band and the 2002-2003 season where they sounded terrible. I said I'll let it drop and I will.

As a former band member, it really does hurt to listen to people rip on the band. If you aren't aware, several band members read and have read this forum for the last several years. Thank god, we have thicker skin. And if anybody knows a true musician, they know that musicians are very self-critical as it is and are quite aware when another performer is better or worse than themselves. But they also take pride in their hard work and contribution. I know that I did, as an individual musician and member, every single time I took the field or stood up in the top corner of that arena to play for the Sioux teams and thousands of Sioux fans almost every weekend for 4 years. :D

Glad to see you're going to lay off.

I'm one who thinks the UND band is great and adds a lot of good atmosphere to the games. I love having bands at the games.

I sat by the band a couple of times and thought they were alright. Don't know how you can play/read music while you're watching the game though!

I know it does, but when I was in the band, we deserved it. In 2002-2003, the REA started piping in more music rather than letting the band play.

I will say up front that it isn't fair to think of the band now as the same one of 3 years ago. They are worlds better than they were and I hope they get even better.

I'll go back and delete my posts.
