O'Neill going to St Thomas:

Not going to 2nd-guess Chyzyk or Jax, but the kid stays in the NCHC. Giving a ND kid a chance at UND would have been nice. As I mentioned previously, having spent time with him a couple of years back, he's a super high-quality person. I'll be cheering for him.

CHN article on the proposed NCAA change to 5yr eligibility:

https://www.collegehockeynews.com/news/2026/04/24_College-Hockey-Bracing-For.php

It would certainly change a lot of things, especially on the junior hockey side of things before entering college.  Teams like Mankato would be hit hard, as they usually try to recruit those players that blossom a little later.
Then, you could also have kids staying for 5yrs if they wanted.

Pretty crazy.  Some changes look to be coming.

Would hope this doesn't go through, at least for hockey. Hockey's developmental structure is through junior, not HS, in 98% of the world & 90% of North America. Would hate to limit hockey careers by putting a time clock on eligibility

The NCAA men's hockey coaching body is hoping to get some answers Thursday about the NCAA's proposed new age-based eligibility system during national meetings in Bonita Springs, Fla.

NCAA senior vice president and chief legal officer Scott Bearby is scheduled to address the group for 50 minutes.

Age-based eligibility won't be the only hot topic presented during national meetings Thursday afternoon and Friday morning. The NCHC will once again push to change regionals from neutral sites to home sites.

Denver coach David Carle has been the most vocal about wanting change, but he's far from the only one — especially in the NCHC. His allies include UND coach Dane Jackson and Western Michigan coach Pat Ferschweiler.

Another trophy for CC to lose 🤣 j/k

That good for them to have between the two schools

That’s not true! They’ve been winning the coveted Pikes Peak trophy almost every year now! The most prized trophy in all of college hockey!

Ok, now CC can win two 🤣

CC needs to be more competitive for the other 4

Cool to see the Robson’s have a connection to both CC and ASU

Get this to 44-45 games

Baby steps I guess.
They still need to figure out this darn age limit/5yr eligibility craziness too.  :D

Have they ever thought what is the NCAA going to do if we just do our own thing, and ignore this rule?

The Ivy’s. What’s their deal? Is it some highbrow thing to play fewer games?

Their rules, sounded like they were going to change their games rule because of football

I would assume it's to say they're focused on academics. Just my guess.
