beastandco Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago Adam Valentini, projected mid-late 1st round pick in 2026, will play this season with Michigan. He was already committed but has decided to come in early. This is a very interesting move. Quote

Bold move considering he probably needed another year of junior and going to the O to play for Kitchener would have been a good challenge for him 1 Quote

Will be interesting to see how he acclimates to the NCAA game. Can't imagine that he'd play a top 6 role for Mich this season. 1 Quote
AlphaMikeFoxtrot Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago Misa/Roobroeck didn't pan out so they are bringing him in early. Sucks to be Perron! Quote

So does this mean Perron may end up being 4th line at some point. I always thought he seemed checked out before the end of the year and I just dont see how the grass will be any greener for him in Michigan Quote

Guessing he's still slapped into a scoring role somehow, but I'd be lying if I said I wish him the best opportunities available haha. Quote
beastandco Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago Valentini going to Michigan this year makes me think that Eli McKamey is guaranteed to come in next year unless he has a rough year in the WHL. I know that him coming in next year has always been the plan. If we don’t bring him in early, someone else will. 1 Quote

Third line probably won't get shutdown matchups. Michigan clearly recruited him while he was here, he was projected to them on this forum in like January. 2 Quote
AlphaMikeFoxtrot Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago Looking at Michigan's roster, they have 3 blue chips penciled in for top 6 (Hage, Horcoff, Valentini). Schifsky and Hughes are proven ~point per game scorers in college. Perron will need to beat out Spence and McKinney (among others) for a top 6 spot. Grass is not always greener exhibit for years to come. EDIT: Hage, Horcoff, Schifsky and McKinney are all centers, so not likely all are top 6. Still not a lot of Top 6 and PP time available for him. TwamleyShuffle Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago Does anyone know if Perron received major NIL or did he just want to play for them? Quote

I'm sure he got something, but if Michigan went crazy on NIL with him, they'd be crazy. He didn't hit 20pts in either of his first two NCAA seasons and is a defensive liability. That's not the type of player you drop heavy NIL for, but who knows. 1 Quote
atxsioux Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago Likely that Chris Peters is just throwing names out there but definitely is nice to hear Nodak mentioned by him for Dupont Quote

I heard between 20k-50k in that range. His type of style, not hustling and being terrible on defense and 5 on 5 in general will fit right in with Michigan. Perron is a very overrated player. Not just saying that because he left, his 5 on 5 play was truly abysmal at times this year. 2 Quote

Not to mention his spinning blind passes that worked 10% of the time, the other 90% they went the other way Quote
