By losing BIS CHS has to make it to state through the back door of the WDA tournament would get BIS CHS the #3 West or #4 West seed, thus drawing #2 East (likely GF RRHS) or the #1 East (likely GF Central). 
 

I don’t see how this would make BIS CHS happy.

They weren’t expected to make it to state, now they have a very strong chance to go.

Its just a better opportunity to make the state tournament after they lost to Mandan.  They play the #9 seed today, and if they win the #6 seed likely tomorrow.

They aren't happy they lost, they're happy Jamestown lost.

We have the potential for a Jamestown-Mandan qualifier on Saturday, which is an absolute bitch.  Same thing happened with Legacy and Mandan the last 2 seasons.

As long as Minot and Legacy go 1-2 as expected, I think there's at least a decent chance the west wins 1 possibly even 2 games in the opening round of state this year. Today will paint a pretty strong picture of what we could expect for the state tournament lineups.

IDK....Legacy just tossed up like 12 SOG on Bottineau.  That's not going to cut it very long.

A consider this the best high school hockey day in North Dakota of the whole year. It’s do or die win or go home baby. Let’s get it on. I will be in Bismarck tomorrow to get fixed.

You really think there's ZERO chance Minot or Legacy could beat Shanley, WFS, FN, or DL? I think Minot has a 50/50 chance of beating the #4, and as long as the #3 doesn't end up being Davies, I think Legacy at least has a shot at beating the #3. That isn't an absurd prediction.

Whomever gets the GF schools is playing at Farmers Friday.  Minot against Shanley or North is the best chance for the west.

Legacy didn't exactly instill a ton of confidence and hasn't all year that they can be competitive vs the east. But kids being kids you never know, But for legacy or Minot to get a 1st round state win this year its going to take some luck and the right situation.

They are all kids and it wouldn't be the first time a group of overly confident kids got shocked by a determined underdog in their semifinal.

The last time RR missed the state tournament was 2010. And that appears to have been maybe the one and only time, ever?!

The last time GFC missed the state tournament was 2023. And that was the 9th time ever missing.

They have never missed a state tournament with EDC played in Grand Forks.  2010 was at Scheels Arena.  Lost 2-1 to West Fargo.
