Mandan might run the table in the west?! DL and Grafton appear to be pretty solid and might have a decent shot to be in the mix for the #4 spot in the east? I'll admit, I thought even with losing a few guys early that Century would be a top dog in the west this year, but by the looks of it they might have their lowest finish in the west in many many years. Hopefully the Thursday, Friday and Saturday games clear things up a bit, because right now I can't gauge crap lol. Davies vs Central and WFS vs RR might give us a better pulse on the EDC. Yeah 4 years ago CHS missed state. But that team would destroy this years version. I'd say it's going to come down to Mandan and Minot in the West and the East will have the easiest 4 game sweep in years come state. 1 Quote
Wilbur Posted 8 hours ago Author Posted 8 hours ago Wilbur's current EDC Power rankings. 1. Central-Not rolling quite yet, but will get there. 2. RR-Ulmer and Haagenson are a lot to handle. 3. Davies-Lost to Sheyenne, but they've got some good young forwards. 4. Sheyenne-Having Fitzpatrick in the net gives them a punchers chance in any game. He was the difference against Davies. 5. North-Dropped one to GPR, but I'll put them here after a 3-1 start. 6. WFHS-Still figuring out life post Mattern. Big game with the Spoilers tomorrow. 7. Devils Lake-Figuring out life post Forsberg. Gave Central a good game at home. Love how Stromme plays. 8. Shanley-Kind of where I thought they'd be to start. Getting used to a new coach too. Tough loss to Mandan last night. 9. GPR-Always tough at home regardless who they play. Imagine if they had Larson. Lets see how they look in WF tomorrow. 10. Mayport-Turned some heads last year, and almost got that first EDC tournament win. Haven't followed them much this year. 1 Quote

But my gut told me WF was going to be bad this year without Mattern but you seem to know otherwise. I was going to guess GPR beats WF tomorrow since their win over FN doesn’t appear like it was a fluke (even shots). Quote

A competitive DL and Grafton PR would be SPECTACULAR for ND hockey! I think WF may be there in the end but im solidly in the camp that the ratings may be based on Matterncolored glasses 8 hours ago, Brim006 said: I'll admit, I thought even with losing a few guys early that Century would be a top dog in the west this year, but by the looks of it they might have their lowest finish in the west in many many years. Century will win some games but week in and week out its going to be a mystery as to who will be in the lineup. As I've said all along it's by far the least deep Century team since... the 80s? But the WDA is equally as weak so every night is going to be competative. Mandan is getting some really fun to watch kids producing and they have the goaltending to.. dare I say Compete for a WDA title? I figured legacy would be stronger and they will improve but... Minot, Mandan, Legacy..... and then whoever can put 1.5 lines on the ice is still a safe bet. 1 Quote
