Looks like the men are in Canada to get some game experience, which is a very good idea since most haven’t played much at the D1 level. The overwhelming thought on the forum seems to be that we won’t be very good - for several reasons.  Even as an optimist, I must agree wins will be challenging to come by, but I’m still really looking forward to the season and trying to keep perspective. I have a few things I’m looking forward to seeing this year.

1)      How well can this team gel together and function as a unit?

2)      What did we get with all the transfers and how will they fit at the D1 level?

3)      Have the red shirts made enough progress to contribute. A couple of them have gained some weight, which is a good sign.

4)      What changes may we see from our defense or offense?

I predict middle of the pack Summit league finish.  Every team within the league is in the same boat, new year/new team.  I heard the new asst. coach did bring in a new defense.

Glad to see the NDSU games are different this year. Doubleheader in Fargo on Feb 28th, and then UND plays them back to back days in GF on Feb 14th (Men’s) and 15th (Women’s).

I’m assuming Hockey being home on the 14th would be the reason for no double header on the 14th?

This was finally released. A solid non-conf home schedule which is nice to see.

Not bad, cool road trips to Bama, Creighton, Lincoln and Hawaii

I get that preseason polls are meaningless, but I find it kind of fascinating that the consensus from league coaches, SIDs and media members is that Bergstraser at Denver was able to build a roster pretty much from scratch (only returned three players, two of whom basically didn't play at all), over the course of a few months, better than Sather put together in year seven.

Is this Sather’s last year of contract?

NWMSU* but your point still stands although McCollum brought his entire team essentially and they were a D2 wagon.

I actually think Denver will finish higher than 7th. Carson Johnson is going to be really good in this league.

UND is probably in the right spot. A lot of the scoring load is going to be on Garret Anderson. Supposedly, defense is going to be much stronger but we will see.

What points towards our defense being much stronger?

Curtis twins, Josh Jones can’t possibly be worse than Amar, Garrett Anderson can’t possibly be worse than Treysen, Kraft can’t possibly be worse than last year
