That sucks. Every year when people go to Madison, they come back with hope that the atmosphere will improve at REA. Sometimes it does improve for a week or two.

(These two are scheduling rivals because of travel concerns, namely the toughest places to get to.)

This is great work, and I have tried to figure out the rotation as well. It is my understanding, though, that Duluth and Tech are paired (fairly close - up and over the Great Lakes), and the two "left over" are Mankato and Anchorage. I remember a Maverick fan telling me that their "partner" in the new system wasn't a rival by any means, but he hoped by playing Anchorage four times every year that it would turn into something.

Anyone know for certain?

Does anyone know if they are going to have the Subway Holiday Classic this year?

UND opens with a home exhibition game against Manitoba and then travels to Dayton, Ohio, for the Lefty McFadden tournament to start the season. While there, they will play Miami of Ohio and Michigan State.

Perhaps ND has since backed out, but UND's participation was publicly reported by Coach Hakstol over a month ago, however, assuming the date of the tourney is Oct. 14-15, I don't know how UND could be playing in Ohio and at home against Northeastern on the same weekend. Split squad perhaps?

I suppose they would get the return from NE for going out there and playing them this past year. Makes sense for the program and its a good non-conference opponent and it money as opposed to going to Columbus and spending money.

That is a fairly decent nonconference schedule. A little different look next year with Northeastern and Harvard coming in and a home and home with Bemidji and away games with UNH and MSU and Miami - I like it.

I notice that after Wisco plays at REA on Nov. 4-5, there isn't another home series until the Gophs on Dec. 9-10 - that is quite a span without home hockey, but Duluth and St. Cloud are always fun roadtrips!

That's to bad if it is. Hopefully it will be back next year. It was nice to have some hockey during the Holidays when there wasn't much else going on in town.
